^^probably not. But you must admit there at least is a CHANCE for Haye because he has a lot of punching power and is explosive. Chagaev isn't that guy.
Yea of course. Wlad is always at risk when fighting a guy with power because he doesn't respond well to getting punched in the face, which is why his style is the way it is.

Haye just talks to much shit for my liking. For a guy who hasn't done shit at HW but beat Monte Barrett and pull out of the biggest fight of his career, which I'm glad he did because now we have at least a #1 heavyweight, he sure does talk a massive amount of shit. I stand by what I said before .. Haye wouldn't make it past Chagaev. He's trying to shit talk his way into the fight with one of the Klitschkos without fighting.

Right, but all of his shit talking is what got him the fight with Klitschko in the first place, so he's very intelligent, like him or not. If he didn't have that personality, he wouldn't have got himself in that position. And it's a nice change because to be honest, the heavyweight division the personalities are about as boring as Ben Stein, with the exception of James Toney but he's past it.

Haye withdrawing from the fight really hurt him though, and that sucks. From what I hear, he did it because all of the money he was to make was to be paid by Sentena sports and he had inside info that they were about to go out of business and he wouldn't get a dollar for fighting Klitschko. Then what happens? Just the other day Sentena goes off air and is out of business. So it was a smart business move because I'm sure Haye knew there is a good chance he'd lose, and if he lost and didn't get paid, well that could be a wrap for his career at heavyweight.

I never said the guy was dumb, just that I don't care for it. I don't mind shit talking and personality as long as it's earned .. and if that's the real reason Haye pulled out of the fight he's as big of a bitch as I originally thought. I don't care about a television station going out of business .. you're about to fight the consensus #1 heavyweight in the world (although at the time not the recognized man) and make a shit ton of money in the process, especially if he believe half the shit he says and beats him.

I have no respect for a guy that talks himself into the fight and then fakes his way out.

Wait, so Haye wouldn't have gotten anything for fighting...? Or just the cut that was to be paid by Setana...?

Nice card tonight. Good to see Jacobs staying active.

^^what if he got seriously hurt by Klitschko? Would that $0.00 he earned from the fight help pay the hospital bills? I wouldn't fight for free.

BTW, I'm not sure if that's the real reason, for all I know he was really hurt, it's just rumors going around why a lot of british fighters suddenly got injured in the past month all had deals with Sentena.

.
He wouldn't have gotten paid anything because the way the contract was written up by the Klitschko Mafia is that sentena would pay david haye, The big Klits and their promotional company would get all other revenue from the German networks, etc.

That contract was out to fuck david haye in everyway, with the two rematch clauses and the majority of the money going to Klit. But, that was all good as long as he got the setana money but once he knew the company was going under he pulled out. that's the rumor anyways.

George Walton was on a documentary called On The Ropes when he was coming up and starting boxing. If anyone has netflix with xbox live you can stream it live and check it out. It's a pretty cool doc.

Just watched Ortiz vs. Maidana. I knew the chance for an upset was there .. if you all remember in the boxing thread I hyped up Kotelnik Vs. Maidana as a very dope fight (which it was and if you still haven't seen you definitely should now, I'll up it if someone wants to watch) and was excited to see him again.

Coming off a very close decision loss to Kotelnik and then getting off the canvas THREE times to stop a very tough prospect by making him basically quit and contemplate retirement right after the fight is highly impressive. Maidana definitely earned a fan tonight.
