Oh Well, The Writing's On The Wall...

By Rick Reeno

WBA/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs) is likely heading up in weight. Danny plans to go to the welterweight division after beating most of the top names at 140-pounds - including Amir Khan, Zab Judah, Erik Morales and now Lucas Matthysse.

"I beat all of the best fighters at 140, what else do you want me to do? I beat everybody at 140. I beat two guys that I wasn't suppossed to beat and I beat them in fashion," Garcia said.

Garcia won a clear twelve round decision over Matthysse on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Saul Alvarez undercard on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Most of the big names - like Mayweather, Adrien Broner, Devon Alexander, Amir Khan, Manny Pacquiao, Timothy Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez - are already campaigning at welterweight.

For him to bring up Cotto knowing cotto is with TR shows they have no idea of what to do with canelo. They made him fight at 152 to make Floyd happy but now stuck with no matches for Canelo. He should dip to TR cuz he would have way better money making fights there, straight up

Cotto is not signed to Top Rank or HBO, it's a one fight deal. But I do see Cotto vs. Martinez or Manny 2 at 152lb for Top Rank. Or Canelo vs. Cotto for GBP.

Remember before the The Ghost got beat up by Mayweather, Ward was talking big shit like he ruled the world, and all the Mayweather haters co-signed Mr. Nice Guy Ward. Fast forward months later and all the Mayweather said about Ward was true. HBO will pay good money for euro bum fights and Top Rank hype jobs but the #2 P4P guy in boxing cant get a tune-up with a good payday. Meanwhile Manny, Chavez Jr, Donaire, Cotto, GGG, and Martinez get paid top dollar to fight bums. All that good ole boy, clean cut, kissing ass and HBO still treat you like a worthless NIGGER. See now Ward understands what Floyd was trying to tell him about the boxing business, thats way Ward wants to be cool with Mayweather again. Ward better start making moves the prime of his career is passing him by. Ward can sellout in Oakland so he can draw but HBO dont give a damn about him. Just remember the super6 that made Ward a star was on Showtime. HBO is fucking up there boxing.

Ok that was a weird rant. Unfortunately boxing is more so about entertainment than skills. Lara, Golden Boy and Showtime fighter, cant get a big fight for the life of him. Same story for Rigondeaux, Ward and it took Bernard Hopkins years to become a star.
I would agree with you but Ward last fight was a TKO of 175lb. Lineal champion Dawson. Lara and Rigo are both Cuban, dont speak english, and have no fanbase. Ward last fight was all action, he's well spoken, and he has the Bay Area fanbase. And he still cant get paid. HBO boxing is fucking up. It not a rant I have been pointing out HBO bs for a long while now. Lol. I cant wait for Lampley to hate on all the Showtime fighters on the Fight game, that show is a fucking joke.

Deontay Wilder really giving it to David Haye in sparring action

By Scott Gilfoid: In just watching a little bit of sparring action between unbeaten 6’7″ heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KO’s) and David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) in training camp, you could see that Haye was really taking some vicious head shots from Deontay in training footage from Hayemaker.com.

Haye did not look good in getting nailed by Deontay. Haye and Deontay weren’t playing around at all, because both guys were swinging for the fences. It’s a good thing that Haye was wearing head gear and Wilder extra large gloves because I don’t think that Haye would last long with Deontay nailing him the big fight hands that he was hitting him with.

I hate to say it but Haye’s sparring sessions with Wilder will likely be much better than the actual Haye vs Tyson Fury fight on September 28th because Fury doesn’t Deontay’s speed, power or athleticism. The two are world’s apart in the power department.

I’d like to see Haye fight Deontay in the ring because this sparring looked pretty interesting. Haye was landing some big shots of his own, but Deontay was able to cover up after getting hit clean by some big right hands. Once Wilder was covered up, he came storming back and nailed Haye with some shots that are far better than the big bombs that Wladimir Klitschko was landing on Haye. I mean, there’s no comparison really.

Wladimir fought like he was afraid to let his hands go against Haye for fear of being countered by him, but Deontay had no fears whatsoever in throwing his biggest bombs. Deontay looked really quick because I’m not used to seeing Haye get hit so cleanly. Deontay was like a cobra in landing his big right hands. Haye was too slow to react and he kept getting nailed once the first big shot from Deontay hit him. I have no doubts that if this was an actual fight, Deontay would knock Haye out in the 1st round. He’s just too powerful for him.

Haye is getting the best sparring that money can buy for this training camp. He’s got Deontay, Mariusz Wach and Alexander Dimentrenko. Heck, all three of them would beat Tyson Fury without any problems.
