am taking ghost obvioulsy lol...cuz hes so hungry and amp up to make big money..his first million for this fight...iv seen him been through hella shit and hes not gunna let berto stop his shine...for bigger pay days...
props the the ghost, nice to see him get a good payday. I wouldn't doubt the winner fights Floyd next.

as for the fight, its a tough one to call. robert has to stay on the outside and box. he's never felt true welterweight power yet and berto has a good punch when he can land clean.

If Berto wasn't coming over off of an injury and a long lay-off, I would say Berto wins easy. But Berto might have ring rust. Plus the Ghost got hurt in his last fight against a guy that wasn't very good. Robert is easy to hit and wide open for body punching and Berto has a good hook to the body. Berto has real 147lb power like 206 said early. Add that power with the speed Berto has and I have Berto TKO'ing him late in the fight. I think this will be a good fight and the winner will be fighting Mayweather most likely. If the Ghost wins he will have earned the Mayweather fight because Berto to me is one of the Top fighter at 147lb..

One of the best at 147?
Is that after or before getting clocked around by Ortiz?
Or after or before he got busted for injecting Nandrolone?

No shock that you're on another black fighters nuts.
Biased much?

Now who's exposed?

Oh my god a guy that only lost is the Fight of the year of 2011, which he knocked Ortiz down 2 times and made it all 12 rounds to lose a UD. Came back in his very next fight to win the IBF belt against an undefeated Zaveck by 5th round TKO in another all action fight. Yes, I think that makes him one of the top guys at 147lb. The only thing you exposed is your Homotional E-feeling again. Are we talking boxing or your E-feelings about me?? You mad??

What the hell does FOTY have to do with credentials?
A loss is a loss.

Berto gases.
You're right a loss is a loss and Berto only has 1 loss dumb ass. And that 1 loss was the Fight of the year of 2011. Berto is 29-1 with 22 KO's and a two time 147lb pound champion. Again Berto is one of the top guys at 147lb.

You too busy trying to hate everything I write, but yet you're too damn dumb to actually read and comprehend what I write first. Just because YOU don't like what I say doesn't mean it's not the truth. Berto is a top guy at 147lb.. You don't think so cool then you should say that the Ghost is going to beat him then. We don't care about your E-feelings about me. Talk boxing cornball.

The guy just got busted for one of most powerful androgenic steroids on the black market. Until he gets a solid win over a top notch person, testing CLEAN he isn't "One Of The Best At 147".

You're one of the biggest clowns claiming people are on PEDs and to prove x y and z. Your "Top Of 147" dude just got busted for injecting Deca.

Hopefully Haye doesn't hurt his toe!

David Haye claims he has agreed a contract with Vitali Klitschko for a future showdown, revealing the terms are not as lucrative as when he fought Klitschko's brother Wladimir.

Haye entered retirement after his lop-sided loss to Wladimir in July 2011, before stepping back into the ring to knock out Dereck Chisora a year later.

Now the Brit insists he will only fight again if a bout with Vitali is on the table, which he claims is happening after negotiations between the two camps. The Ukrainian is yet to announce his next fight after beating Manuel Charr in September, but Haye claims the pair are set to meet.

"The fight has already been agreed," Haye is quoted as saying in the Sun. "It's not a slave contract. It is not as good as it was against Vitali's brother Wladimir but I don't expect that because I'm the challenger now.

"It is fair and it gives me a chance to get the [WBC] belt back."

The heavyweight showdown became a major possibility when the WBC lifted its ban on Haye in August, and the Brit has since attempted to anger Klitschko by criticising his fights and insisting he will not fight in the Ukrainian's homeland.

With home names such as David Price and Tyson Fury becoming established forces in the division, it had been mooted that Haye could put on another all-British battle, but he insists there is no chance of that happening.

"Fury should keep on talking because he isn't really fighting anyone at the moment," Haye said. "As for me fighting him? No. I'm only getting back in the ring for a Klitschko. No one else."

I actually agree that he is one of the best at 147, not the best. I would say only Floyd & Manny are better. I think Berto would smack Bradley around. I also think he would beat Ortiz in a rematch. I almost forgot about Cotto because he is at 154 now but other than that he is up there. Got Em!!

147 is deep.
Marquez, Maidana, Alexander, Bailey, Jones.
I think Berto would be in a ton of trouble with Holt.

I think you "might" have a case putting Berto in top 10, bottom of the pile if that. With that dirty steroid test, I have to refrain from doing so...

Yea it may be the best division like it usually is but Berto is a damn good fighter. I would rank him higher than all of the guys u named. Marquez is questionable though especially if he finally beats Manny and gets credit for it lol. Holt is a hard puncher but if he and Berto faught I would still have Berto. Got Em!!

can't really rank berto too highly since he hasn't really done anything at 147.

But he's a fine fighter. Flawed, but he has some power and speed. His footwork is god awful though.

If Berto was white/mexican/asian bigface would call him a bum that cherry picks 135/140 pound fighters (stevie forbes, Urango, Ortiz & now Guerrero).

Joe Calzaghe announces his return to the Boxing World!
By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing (Oct 19, 2012)
-
Joe Calzaghe
By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. Joe Calzaghe set to return to the World of Boxing, but not as a boxer. This time he hopes to follow his father's (Enzo Calzaghe) steps as a trainer.

Yesterday during an event to launch his father's new book Enzo Calzaghe – A Fighting Life, Calzaghe spoke out on his wishes to retun to the sport that made him famous as trainer and manager.

Quoted by the Wales Online, Calzaghe stated: "I love the sport and I hope to be coming back into it... training fighters and managing as well."

What can I say? The sport loves Calzaghe too! To me this is great news. Having Calzaghe back in the boxing world is a great thing. I really believe he can help a new generation of boxers succeed. Calzaghe wasn't just a superbly gifted boxer, but he always came off as a true Gentleman with a brilliant mind. Let's face it... if you weren't a fan of Calazghe... then can you really call yourself a fan of the sport?

Manny Pacquiao Will Fight Brandon Rios if Floyd Mayweather Doesn’t Step Up

By Alex Groberman, Thu, October 18, 2012

Bob Arum raised some eyebrows late last week when he suggested that Brandon Rios would probably a get a shot at Manny Pacquiao in 2013. Well, scratch that. Arum didn’t specifically name Rios. Rather, the Top Rank Boss indicated that the winner of this past Saturday’s showdown between Rios and Mike Alvarado would probably fight Manny in 2013, and Rios was the one who won that match.

After the fight, Rios was asked about potentially taking on Pacquiao, and how he felt he would do against the Filipino champ.

"You see what happened to Mike Alvarado? I think I could do the same thing to them, too. Mike Alvarado, I think, he hits harder than them and he's more tougher," Rios said (via RingTV).
"Pacquiao's an in and out guy. But you know what? Like I always do, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. taught me very well. Break the body down and the head will fall down."

Obviously Rios wasn’t lacking in confidence that night. Handing a very legitimate fighter in Alvarado his first career loss is big, however, it doesn’t exactly mean that you will have similar success versus Pacquiao. The difference between taking down a good fighter and taking down a legendary one is pretty massive.

This week, Rios’ camp decided take a bit of the sting out of his initial comments. Clearly they really want a showdown against the Filipino champ, and the last thing they want to do right now is turn anyone off by seeming too cocky.

"The fact that Brandon is being mentioned doesn't mean that the fight is going to happen, so they both have their own managers. We're not 100 percent that it's going to happen," said trainer Robert Garcia (via RingTV).

"But it would be an honor just to know that we're being mentioned as a potential opponent for a guy who has been on top for the last 10 years or so."

That was the kill-them-with-compliments part of the interview. Then Garcia went back to espousing the same sort of message Rios sent after the Alvarado bout: nobody in that camp is afraid of Pacquiao.

“I think that Brandon's style combined with Pacquiao's age and all of that, we might be able to pull of a surprise. I think that Brandon's style is just one that gives everybody problems.

"Brandon ain't taking it easy with nobody. He wants to fight the best guys out there. Everybody says that Brandon fights similarly to Margarito, and that could be true. Brandon keeps on coming, works the body beautifully and throws really good uppercuts in there. The only difference is that Brandon is 10 years younger than Margarito, which could be a big difference in a fight with Manny Pacquiao," said Garcia.

"Right now, I think that he's at a significant point of his career. The same thing with Pacquiao.

Pacquiao is not getting any younger, and Brandon is young, strong and hungry, so that could make a big difference. I think Brandon's style is a factor against anybody. We could have Sugar Ray Leonard and Brandon's style could give him trouble, you know what I mean? And if it's somebody like Pacquiao who stands in front of you and goes to war with you, then it'll be a war just like people saw on Saturday."

A fight versus Floyd Mayweather Jr. is obviously priority number one for 2013. However, if that doesn’t materialize (which it very well might not), Rios is clearly being positioned to be Pacquiao’s fallback option.

Kelly Pavlik: ‘It would be a great honor to step in the ring with Andre Ward’

By

John J. Raspanti

Former middleweight champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik is waiting at his home in Youngstown, Ohio for the phone to ring.

Rumors have been circulating about a possible showdown between Pavlik, and super middleweight champion Andre “S.O.G” Ward early next year.

Pavlik, 30, has lost only two fights in his 12-year professional career. He’s anxious to get back to work with trainer Robert Garcia. Pavlik feels that deciding to work with Garcia was the best decision he’s ever made.

“He’s shown me things that I never really learned in boxing,” said Pavlik to DogHouseboxing.com on the phone last week. “Most of the things I learned in boxing I taught myself. He’s taught me about the repetition of doing something. I just don’t do two rounds on the pads anymore.

“He makes me go six, seven rounds, again and again. When he moves me to the bag, he makes sure I do the same things. He’s taught me about angles. I’ve learned about countering,” said Pavlik, who brutally knocked out defending champion Jermain Taylor five years ago to capture the middleweight championship of the world.

Both Pavlik and Taylor were undefeated that night. Pavlik beat Taylor in a rematch five months later. He lost his crown to Sergio Martinez in 2010 via a unanimous decision. He floored Martinez in round six but was unable to capitalize. His other loss was to future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins.

The former champion learned quickly to leave his ego at the door since joining Garcia.

“I’m always open to learn. One thing about boxing you can never stop learning,” Pavlik said. “Unlike other people, I always keep my mind open. I’ve seen a lot and been through a lot in my career. I’ve learned more working with Robert then anyone else. I’m not knocking anyone down.

“Robert watches you and corrects things. Training with Robert and being in Youngstown is like two different worlds. He’s busy but he makes time for me. He works. He stands on the apron and watches me.”

Pavlik was anxious to fight Martinez in a rematch but not at 160-pounds.

“I can’t get down to one hundred and sixty,” Pavlik said. “It was worse then my staph infection. It almost killed me. On the Wednesday before the fight, I was fifteen pounds over the limit. I got my weight down but my legs felt weak. I told my wife, ‘I’m done.’ “

Nevertheless, Pavlik’s effort was spirited that night.

“I was doing pretty well until I ran out of gas,” Pavlik said. “I can’t take anything away from Sergio. He’s a great fighter.”

Last month Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez called out Pavlik after his TKO victory over Jason Escalera. Pavlik felt a tinge of disrespect from the 27-year-old Rodriguez.

“I was angry and kind of ran him (Rodriguez) down in another interview,” Pavlik said. “But, don’t get me wrong, the kid is a tough fighter. I did think he lost to Will Kaminsky. (a fighter Pavlik beat by a wide decision last July). He’s a game fighter.

“I didn’t think he was that fast. I’m forty and two. My losses have been to two future Hall of Famers. I don’t think taking a tune-up fight is the best move for me right now. I’ve had three fights in four months. Who’s Edwin Rodriguez?”

But, the fight Pavlik wants more then anything is with Ward.

“He would have to understand that he’s going to have a fight on his hands,” said Pavlik with a chuckle. “He’s always been a class act. He’s always spoken well about me. In my opinion, he’s one of the greatest fighters of all-time.

“The way he cleaned up the super middleweight division, I mean, that’s a loaded division. He tore up that division and beat everybody easily. Then, with what he did to Dawson, it would be and honor to step in the ring with him. I mean why wouldn’t I?”

Ward’s style is a mixture of quickness, intelligence, and overall ring generalship. Pavlik admits to being a fan of Ward.

“I think he’s a phenomenal fighter,” he said. “The kid can flat-out fight. He’s not a big puncher, but he can hurt you because he’s so fast. Everybody says I’m slow, but I was right there with Martinez. Andre Ward doesn’t move as much as Martinez. He’ll be right there.”

A few months ago, various boxing websites reported that IBF champion Carl Froch, and Pavlik, were negotiating a fight. Pavlik has no problem fighting Froch, but not in the champions hometown of Nottingham, England.

“I’d have a better chance of winning the Masters Tournament then winning over there in Nottingham,” Pavlik said.

Though some feel that Pavlik’s career is winding down, the former champion believes that working with trainer Garcia has inserted a new spirit into his bones. Can a veteran fighter of 12-years still improve?

Pavlik thinks so.

“I thought in my last two fights my boxing ability got better,” he said. “I thought I dominated the fight with Kaminsky. If you go back and watch it, I won at least seven rounds. I beat him convincingly.

“I have progressed. I can throw combinations to head and body now. I can counter punch,” said Pavlik.

Maybe, an old dog can learn new tricks.

He hasn't done nothing but become a two time 147lb champion. His last fight he TKO'ed the undefeated IBF champ. But sure Berto didn't do nothing. Lara wins a 10 round UD against Freddy Hernandez and 206 was saying how it was a great win, but Berto KO'ed Freddy Hernandez in 1 round and Berto has fought nothing but bum. lol.. What about Berto KO'ing Carlos Quintana who fights at 154lb now? Was he a bum too. Berto is one of the better guys at 147lb.

LOL.. At Bigface is a racist because he calls me out on my lying and double talking ways. lol.. Now I'm a racist.. lol..

Erik Morales Reportedly Tests Positive For Clenbuterol
Article Link - Erik Morales Reportedly Tests Positive For Clenbuterol

By Salvador Rodriguez, Rene Umanzor

Former four division world champion Erik Morales has reportedly tested positive for Clenbuterol.

In an earlier article - Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, confirmed to BoxingScene.com that his company was advised by USADA [U.S. Anti-Doping Agency] that "irregularities" were discovered in a random drug test taken by Morales.

Morales is fighting WBA/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia in a rematch on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The fight is going to headline a Showtime televised quadrupleheader.

"On Tuesday night, USADA informed us that there were irregularities in a test from Erik Morales," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com. "On Wednesday, USADA informed the respective camps and the [New York State Athletic] Commission as well. This process is going to have to play itself out."

According to Wikipedia, Clenbuterol is a β2 agonist with some structural and pharmacological similarities to epinephrine and salbutamol, but its effects are more potent and longer-lasting as a stimulant and thermogenic drug. It causes an increase in aerobic capacity, central nervous system stimulation, and an increase in blood pressure and oxygen transportation. It increases the rate at which body fat is metabolized while increasing the body's BMR. It is commonly used for smooth muscle-relaxant properties. This means it is a bronchodilator and tocolytic.

The drug has been publicized for its off-label use as a weight-loss drug, similar to usage of other sympathomimetic amines such as ephedrine. It is commonly used as a slimming aid despite the lack of sufficient clinical testing either supporting or negating such use.

Clenbuterol is not an ingredient of any therapeutic drug approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and is now banned for IOC-tested athletes. In the US, administration of clenbuterol to any animal that could be used as food for human consumption is banned by the FDA.

According to Morales, he took three drug tests administered by USADA and only one them came up positive with a "small trace" of Clenbuterol.

Morales believes he tested positive due to contaminated meat, which he ate in Mexico. In the United States, as stated earlier, the FDA bans the administration of clenbuterol to animals which are going to be eaten by humans. In Mexico, those laws are not in place.

Morales' A sample showed a minor trace of the drug. He expects to be vindicated by the B sample.

In the first fight with Garcia in March, Morales failed to make weight. Because clenbuterol is used to burn fat and drop weight, the minor trace will raise a red flag.

However, Morales' statement regarding food contamination is a valid theory.

Cyclist Alberto Contador of Spain was banned for two years from professional cycling after testing positive for the same drug at the 2010 Tour de France. CAS later found that Contador did not take clenbuterol as a performance-enhancing drug, but probably tested positive due to a contaminated food supplement.

Is Morales a cheater too. Or do you only care when it's a black fighter because I see no post of this in here. Was Morales cheating his whole career or was it just a mistake?? lol You clown that call me racist eplain this to me.. You guys had a lot to say about Peterson and Berto now talk about Morales.. lol
