I forgot about the dudes in Japan. I'm sure they were getting paid well but they actually appreciate smaller fighters over there. I wonder how Chris John did over there too? There was never really a good reason for him to fight over here with the following/money he had over there, that's all I know.

Yeah Vic definitely hit a million, I remember they made a huge deal about it on Showtime and he talked about how much he loved Gary Shaw after. With so much TV money going around these days all over the country I'm sure a lot of big name lighter weight fighters have scored decent enough paydays - not necessarily a million but good purses.

John I guarantee did well in Indonesia. When he fought Juarez he said he was only doing it cause he wanted to come to the states and make a name for himself but he was actually losing money doing it. Then he got stuck with a ridiculous draw and just came back to avenge the draw.

I don't know what Vazquez/Marquez got paid for their fights but hopefully when the 4th fight that didn't matter came around that got paid well then.

If I remember correctly, Is it Frank Espinoza that was co-promoting him, gave him like a $50k bonus for winning that 2nd or 3rd fight because he earned it or something like that. I remember thinking "that's it?" Then I saw how much he got for the actual fight and I was shocked. It wasn't enough, that's all I remember.

Kell Brook “I am world champion amongst Mayweather and Pacquiao, I want the big fights this year.”

kell brook and eddie hearns

The UK’s own Kell Brook waited years for a title shot, acuminating his skills through innumerable injuries. When Brook finally got into the ring, he made it look easy against Shawn Porter, a fighter who many thought had too much power for the English welterweight.

Just two weeks after claiming the IBF title, the Sheffield boxer was the victim of a horrific stabbing attack on the Spanish island of Tenerife while on vacation.

Porter believes he deserves a rematch, supported by his trainer/father, Kenny Porter. Brook was quick to shoot both of them down.

“He needs to get in line,” said Brook. “It took me a long time to get to the title, and I won.”

“He is not a big enough name, and I want the big names now. If he fights his way into position again, I will fight him again.”

Can Porter punch his way back into fighting contention in one fight? That is yet to be seen, but on 13th of March, Porter returns to the ring against Roberto Garcia in a 10-round bout at a currently undetermined location in California.

Garcia (36-3, 23 KO) is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Breidis Prescott. Prescott notably knocked out Amir Khan in spectacular fashion in the first round of their bout for the WBO-Inter-Continental lightweight title, in 2008. However, Prescott has lost three of his past six fights, including a stoppage loss to Mike Alvarado and a blowout loss to rising star, Terence Crawford.

If Porter wants to have a rematch with Brook, he may want to fight cleaner, according to Brook.

“In the fight, he was coming in low and he butted me, He was trying that rough man boxing and a bit dirty at times. He was really coming into me, so there was nothing else that I could do,” It was not a good fight at the time, but the fight made me a world champion. This is going to be a lot in his system, but I won it on his own turf.”

Given the quality of Garcia’s opponents in recent fights, it seems unlikely that Brook will offer Porter a chance at redemption, at least for now. If the rematch does come to fruition at some point, perhaps Brook is hinting at a potential flash in the United Kingdom.

In another fight that is garnering interest, analysts and pundits alike have been using Amir Khan and Kell Brook in the same sentence.
Khan-Brook would be a tantalizing fight for the fans, pitting two men from the same country, with different, yet distinct capabilities.

Brook has superior counter punching techniques and movement, although Khan has superior hand speed and combination punching, but Khan has proven to be vulnerable to counter shots, as seen against Danny Garcia. Is Khan purposefully avoiding Kell Brook?

In many ways, Khan is purposefully avoiding Brook because his goal is either landing a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao. Brook wants the fight, but is unsure whether Khan is committed.

“You are going to have to ask him these questions,” said Brook. “I put out there that I want the fight, but if not him, you are going to see me with some massive names, I am a world champion amongst Mayweather and Pacquiao, so I want the big, big fights this year.”

Eddie_Hearn_Kell_Brook_after_SaldiviaThere was not a ton of excitement when Eddie Hearn announced that Kell Brook’s next fight will be against his IBF mandatory Jo Jo Dan. We last saw UK’s Brook in August of last year when he defeated Shawn Porter by majority decision to capture a piece of the welterweight title landscape. Almost immediately following Brook’s victory fans were clamoring to see him again for a multitude of reasons.

Brook’s fans — the fans he had coming into the Porter fight and the fans he made after winning — were excited to see him in other big fights against the likes of Amir Khan and Keith Thurman. But his detractors were just as excited to see him fight again.

A lot of them thought Porter deserved to win and wanted further proof that Brook is legit, although some just want the chance to prove Brook is a fraud.

Brook did a lot of great things in the Porter fight, and he is a legit player in the division. For these reasons, fans were disappointed in the Dan matchup because they were hoping they’d see him in some of the most lucrative fights out there in the division.

However, Jo Jo Dan is an acceptable opponent choice for Brook when all things are considered. For Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn, Dan is more than just a soft touch mandatory for a titlist returning from injury. Hearn believes this fight is key to setting up bigger fights for Brook later in the year.

“He’s the number one contender in the division; he’s the mandatory challenger for Kell Brook. Kell Brook has a mandatory that he has to uphold to. Dan is a very good fighter, stylistically a great fight for Brook and a chance for Kell to get that mandatory out of the way and unlock the huge fights in the summer.” Hearn told Thaboxingvoice.com’s Dov Johal.

Dan is an exciting fighter, and he isn’t as weak as some of the other choices Brook could’ve made. But what makes this fight even more reasonable is that Brook is coming back from an injury he suffered weeks after capturing the IBF title.

Brook was on Holiday in the Spanish island of Tenerife when he was stabbed in the leg with a machete during an altercation. It was reported quickly that Brook was in stable condition, but his accounts of the night have led many to believe that the incident was more severe than we knew.

It seems like the situation was downplayed a bit to keep Brook’s stock from diminishing. At the time, Brook was on schedule to make his first title defense in December of 2014, but the injury proved too severe.
When you consider the gravity of his injury from both a physical and psychological standpoint, it is more than reasonable for Brook to be matched against the likes of Dan.

“This is a tough fight coming back from a horrific injury that nearly cost Kell Brook his life. There [are] no easy fights in the division, but for me this is the fight that unlocks the super fights in the summer.”

Hearn is adamant about the excitement level Dan will create in this fight with Brook. He knows that Dan is a level or two below Brook’s last opponent Porter. He believes the action in the Brook-Dan fight, which was a missing element in the Porter fight, will exceed expectations and surely surpass what Brook experienced in the Porter fight.

“Stylistically, this is a different fight than [Brook’s last fight with Porter]; Brook will fight differently [than the way he fought] Porter. The special think about Kell Brook is he can adapt however he needs to and against Jo Jo Dan Kell will stand and fight because that’s the kind of style Dan will bring to the ring.”

There are still some unresolved aspects in the Brook-Dan fight, although we know it will take place at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on March 28th, it isn’t clear where the American television rights will land.
Hearn has had discussions with Lou DiBella and Al Haymon, who he worked with to quickly finalize the fight with Dan, but he admits that Haymon will call the shots regarding American TV.

Haymon announced a few weeks ago that he has a deal in place with NBC and then just last week he announced a deal with Spike TV to produce his series titled “Premier Boxing Champions.”

It isn’t known whether Brook-Dan will land on either network, but Hearn is optimistic that it could land on NBC and at least be part of the PBC series.

“It might be [on the NBC], we’ll announce the broadcast partner in America in the next couple of weeks, but it’ll be [Al Haymon’s decision] to select where he wants it to go.

LOL trust me this is worth the read, Rigondeaux going in on Leo Santa Cruz

Guiellermo Rigondeaux's Complete Interview.
Interviewer:Champ, thanks for accepting our calling.

GR: Thank you very much for making this interview, we are ready for anything.

Int:How do you take Oscar de la Hoya's willingness on making the fight with Santa Cruz?

GR:Well, we(his camp) are at 100 percent, we are ready and waiting. I have never said no to any fight, and well.. we are now just waiting on Leo Santa Cruz or his father to make a decision so we can make the fight, that's it. That's all that's left, nothing else.

Int:How does one fight against Leo Santa Cruz?

GR:I am a fighter that depends on how his opponent comes to fight. However, if we have to fight at 100 percent, toe to toe, we are ready for anything. We are always ready. First and foremost we are always at the weight, all we are waiting for is for him(LSC) to say "yes" and nothing else.

Int: Do you believe that the victory over Nonito Donaire closed the doors for you in terms of other big fights, due to the manner in which you won it?

GR:No, not really. But I always keep myself conscience and well prepared to fight anyone I have to fight. I don't know what's going on or why the rest of the champions don't want my titles. They don't want them nor do they want to unify against me, that's why we are hoping for Leo Santa Cruz to say yes, so we can cement the fight and make it happen. That's what I'm waiting for.

Int: Do you think Leo is sincere when he claims he wants to fight you?

GR:To be honest, I don't know that. All I know is that we are ready and hoping the fight comes together. I have never said no, we are prepared and all that's left is for him to agree and that's it.

Int: What would you like to say to Santa Cruz?

GR:Well Leo Santa Cruz, with the statement that De la Hoya made I believe we should make the fight and unify our titles. In order for you to become a unified champion you need to face me, if you fight me then you can become the 122lbs unified champion, if not then you won't. I am ready to make it happen and fight toe to toe.

Int:Is he as obligated as Mayweather to take the Pacquiao fight in order for him (LSC) not to lose his following?

GR:Yes, it's the same situation. It's enough already, they keep giving him all those dead bodies in there and paying him 750 thousand. He keeps fighting those dead bodies that are ranked 500 in their organization, ENOUGH! Let's make the fight and forget about your father, because your father won't be the one fighting, it will be you.

Int:Is it in your plans to move up to 126 and fight the best Featherweights?

GR:I have no problem, I am the 122 pound champion... but if they make a weight limit that they can't exceed 136 pounds come fight night, I will fight anybody. As long as they pay me I fight anybody. I am a boxer that solves any problem that presents itself, I never say no to anything.

Int:What do you have to say in response to Santa Cruz labeling you as a runner and claiming a fight between you would be boring?

GR:That's what he thinks, just like Nonito whom they also had inflated, I have a little present for you. I won't run, I won't move. He thinks I will come out running, let him think that. Let him believe that... I will stand in the middle of the ring and break his head.

Int: Is it true that you said all those mares(female horses) at 122 would never make a Horse like yourself?

GR:Of course, there's like 100 mares that would never make it to be the horse I am. We are waiting for any of them to decide to unify with me, especially Leo. We are waiting for his father to grant him permission. He thinks I will run but he doesn't know I have the end of 2015 waiting for him.

Int: What is "the end of 2015"?

GR:The end of 2015 is.... Salsa, beer and some mangoes and at the end of it all a Tecate Beer, what's up fool? Decide already because Mexicans are characterized for their gran valor and their refusal to turn down a challenge. All we are waiting on now if for this Mexicana to decide already, because that's what she is.. a Mexicana. What's up fool? What the f#ck is up, fool? What are you going to do?

Int:You say that Julio Cesar Chavez scared Leo away from you, why?

GR: Yes, of course. I really respect JCC Sr because he is a great champion and a great person but he is scaring away Leo. Don't scare him off Julio because everytime you make a statement you drive him 100 meters away and I wont be able to catch him, ever. He claims he's a champion(LSC) and that's why I want to unify against him but he keeps fighting dead bodies. I mean, he's fighting his sparring partners, imagine that.

Int:What will happen if you beat Leo for his WBC strap?

GR:You said what? Don't ask "if" I'll beat him, be assured 100 percent that I will. All I am missing is the green strap and the IBF belt and I don't have them because they won't fight me.

Int:Are your belts collecting rust?

GR:They are getting rusty. In fact, they are getting even darker than me. I have 5 belts adorning my house and no one wants to take them from me. No one want's to fight me.. no one wants to be a champion.

Int:What happened in the Panamerican Games of Rio de Janeiro when you defected and then returned to Cuba?

GR:A few things happened. Things didn't come out as planned and they didn't give us the money we had agreed upon. So we(Lara and himself) decided to head back to Cuba. They took us off the National team and then we wound up defecting to the US through our own means.

Int:Is the fight against Leo a 12 rounder or KO?

GR:We prepare ourselves differently for each fight, depending on our rivals. He may think we are going to come out running but I am going to fight him in the middle of the ring and fire off at him. First thing's first, he needs to make weight because he has weight issues. Me on the other hand, I am at weight right now and could even fight tomorrow. I am at 122 without a problem but that's another thing he is running away from. In regards to weight alone I already won one fight.

Int:You also said you had a lot of respect for JMM?

GR:Yes, of course. Salutations to Juan Manuel Marquez. He is an incredible fighter whom has always spoken very kindly of us Cubans. He has always provided us with support in every sense of the word and although he is Mexican, he has always expressed himself very kindly of us Cubans.

Int:Would you like to fight on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao if both fights get made?

GR:Of course and I would shine. Whenever I am given an opportunity I always take advantage of it and seize it, I have never let an opportunity slip away.

Int:What is your final message for LSC?

GR:Look Leo Santa Cruz, I have had good opinions in regard to Mexican boxers. You have claimed to want to fight the best of the best... listen well, the best at 122, do you know who that it? GUILLERMO RIGONDEAUX and I have two titles. I am waiting for yours. Let's unify so we could see who's the best at 122. Don't get it wrong, don't let yourself get inflated like what happened to Nonito Donaire. For you I have the last shipment the boat brought in, so you better prepare yourself very well so you wont make any excuses the way Nonito did. Now he's claiming he is moving back down to 122 to fight me. Here I am, waiting for all these female horses that even stacked together would never mount up to the horse that I am.

Roman Gonzalez Says Naoya Inoue Clash Possible

By Haxel Ruben Murillo, notifight.com

WBC flyweight champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (41-0, 35 KOs) continues to train in San Judas, preparing for his upcoming defense on February 28 in Managua. It was revealed that Valentin Leon is a possible opponent for the date. There are several others being discussed, like César Gándara, Alejandro Morales and Humberto Morales - although organizers say Gándara (23-5, 9 KOs) is unlikely because he "was asking a lot of money."

Leon, 35 years old and originally from Culiacan, has a record of 38 wins, 28 defeats (21 KOs) and three draws. Certainly some people will question the record but Gonzalez ius taking the fight as a stay-busy opportunity for a planned defense in the month of May and a possible fight against 115 pound champion Naoya Inoue at the end of the year.

"Possibly I'm going to fight against Inoue later this year, but right now we are fighting in this division. I want to fight again at this weight. Thank God everything is fine. I'm still preparing to get in the best physical condition, and I have sparred a lot with some guys like David Morales, Carlos" Chocorroncito "Buitrago, among others. I'm focused on my defense, throwing more punches, try as little as possible to receive counters, and hip movements," Gonzalez said.

"I respect the opinions of everyone. If I get paid well, I fight with anyone and I am ready. I just listening to proposals, to me you're paying me though Mr. Akihiko Honda, and if they pay me what Mr. Honda gives me, I am willing to fight them. "

James Degale-Andre Dirrell May Land April 25th In The O2 Arena

James-DeGaleDeGale will fight for the vacant belt after Carl Froch vacated the title through injury, and promoter Eddie Hearn is engaged in early negotiations with former Froch foe and first available contender Andre Dirrell.

The Harlesden ace – who turned 29 today – landed the mandatory position in the IBF with a stoppage win over Brandon Gonzales at Wembley Stadium on the undercard of Froch’s KO win over George Groves in May, and demolished Marco Antonio Periban inside three rounds in Liverpool in November. DeGale is in the form of his career and believes that there is no possible fighter that can stop him winning the title.

“All I want to do is win the World title, it doesn’t matter to me who I have to beat to do it,” said DeGale. “When I first turned pro that was the aim, I now have that chance and I am going to take it with both hands. It’s been a long time but I can make history and I am looking forward to it.

“Dirrell is a very good fighter, aandredirrell tricky southpaw and it would be an awkward fight, but anyone you face for a World title is going to be tough. That’s why I will be putting in 12 weeks of hard work to make the night easy. He does the rounds well and he’s technically good, but I could see myself stopping him later in the fight, I am capable of getting in and stopping anyone.”

Hearn revealed that The O2 in London on April 25 was the targeted date and venue for a clash with Dirrell, but said negotiations with the Michigan fighter and his team are still at an early stage.

“It’s very early,” said Hearn. “This has all happened in the last 24 hours, we will continue negotiations with his team to try to get that fight made. With a sold-out arena in The O2 and Sky Sports behind us, I think it would be difficult for them to get James to America. If that has to happen, not a problem, we’ll go over there, but we’re pushing for that fight to take place on April 25 in London and if Dirrell doesn’t want the fight then it goes down the list to the next available contender which is Gilberto Ramirez. There’s lots of work to do in the next few days but I am confident that James will fight for the World title at The O2 on April 2

Carl Froch has vacated the IBF Super Middleweight title as he recovers from the injury that ruled him out of a clash with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

The four-time World Champion will now consider his future before potentially defending his WBA Super Middleweight title this summer.

Mandatory challenger James DeGale MBE will now fight the next available contender for the vacant title, and the IBF will instruct Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport as to who that will be and negotiations will commence immediately.

“It’s been a frustrating couple of weeks with terms agreed for the Chavez fight only for me to be unable to proceed in camp due to injury,” said Froch. “I know what it’s like to wait for a shot and I didn’t want to hold James up in fighting for a World title.

“James is a great fighter, and I hope he can go out and win that title and who knows, we may even meet later in the year.”

“Talks continue with the Chavez camp regarding a summer clash in Las Vegas, and discussions have taken place with Golden Boy Promotions regarding a bumper clash in Nottingham with two-weight World champion legend Bernard Hopkins in the summer,” said Hearn.

Crawford-Algieri Talks Stalled, Algieri Wants To Much Money
February 03, 2015

A potential fight between Terence Crawford (25-0, 17KO's) and Chris Algieri (20-1, 8KO's) is not likely to happen.

Crawford was the WBO's lightweight champion and after his fight with Ray Beltran Crawford had plans on moving to 140 (Jr Welterweight) and planned to return to the ring on March 21. The fight was going to be on HBO and being targeted to take place in New York at Madison Square Garden.

The WBO has already confirmed that Crawford will have priority status to fight for the vacant WBO Jr welterweight title at 140. Algieri was stripped of his 140 title prior to fighting Pacquiao.

After Algieri lost to Pacquiao he filed a protest with the WBO to regain his title at 140.

According to BoxingScene.com Top Rank promotions is interested in that fight taking place but Algieri is asking for "way to much money."Rumor is that $750,000 is the number being talked about. But the fight is highly possible if Algieri is willing to lower his asking price.

Vargas: My Manager Still Trying To Make Pacquiao Fight
Posted by: Ryan Burton on 2/3/2015 .

>>>Click Here For Tons of More Breaking Boxing News, Articles and Insider Information<<<

By Ryan Burton

In late 2014, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum mentioned undefeated WBA super lightweight champion Jessie Vargas (26-0, 9KOs) as a potential future opponent for WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.

While talks have intensified to make a super fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, and Amir Khan serving as a fall back option for both fighters, Vargas holds out hope that he may still land the fight he craves the most.

"I really want the opportunity to fight Pacquiao and my manager is trying to make that fight happen," said Vargas. "He is pursuing that fight because he knows that that's the fight I really want. It would take me to the top of the game and give me the respect and credit that I have been wanting to get from my fans."

Vargas has many other alternative opponents but wants to wait and see what happens with Pacquiao before moving on.

"Pacquiao is the number one priority but the good thing is that no matter what happens we have plenty of options," Vargas told BoxingScene.com.

Flu forces Nicholas Walters’ withdrawal from doubleheader
February 3, 2015

A bout with the flu has caused RING No. 2-rated WBA featherweight titleholder Nicholas Walters to pull out of a planned March 21 doubleheader at the Theater in Madison Square Garden, according to Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum. RING lightweight champion Terence Crawford was to fight in the evening’s co-feature.

As a result, Arum said the event will likely be moved to April at a site to be determined.

“We heard that he has the flu,” said Arum. “So rather than push anything, we’re going to move the fights back to April, his and also Crawford’s, so everything will be good.”

Walters (25-0, 21 knockouts), has stopped 11 of his past 12 opponents dating back to April 2010 and was named “Jamaican Sportsman of the Year” at the 54th RJR Sports Foundation National Awards earlier this month.

A Jamaican-born fighter who lives and trains in Panama City, Panama, Walters could face Puerto Rico’s Gamalier Rodriguez, (25-2-3, 17 KOs).

Nicknamed “Axe Man,” Walters, 29, is coming off the biggest victory of his career and his fifth consecutive stoppage, a sixth-round TKO that dethroned RING No. 6-rated Nonito Donaire as WBA titleholder in October.

Crawford (25-0, 17 KOs) had been considered for a shot at the vacant WBO junior welterweight belt against RING No. 3-rated 140-pounder Chris Algieri (20-1, 8 KOs) but the two sides were reportedly far apart on the money from Team Algieri’s perspective.

Arum said he is still unaware of whom the respective opponents will be for Walters and Crawford.

Roc Nation-Gary Shaw union ends after just 25 days
February 2, 2015

On Jan. 8, promoter Gary Shaw announced “I have officially joined Roc Nation,” adding, “I’ll be running their boxing division.”

But 25 days later, Shaw and Roc Nation have said they have split up. That announcement came today.

“We had a meeting on Friday, and both sides agreed to split amicably,” said Shaw, whose Gary Shaw Productions (GSP) was to be purchased by Roc Nation. “The deal technically was not closed. We left as friends and I left with all of my fighters, the same way that I came in. They’re great people and they were great to deal with.”

In accordance with the move, Roc Nation was to have taken over the promotional agreements of Shaw’s fighters, a stable that includes heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings, who will challenge RING champion Wladimir Klitschko at Madison Square Garden on April 25.

Shaw said that he would be the sole promoter on behalf of Bryant Jennings against Klitschko, who is handled by K2 Promotions.

“Yes, I will be [Jennings’] promoter. It’s GSP. I was looking forward to the relationship with Roc Nation,” said Shaw. “But it didn’t turn out, probably for both sides, like we both thought and had hoped that it would. Yet they were very business-like. They let me go the way that I came in, with all of my fighters and all of my staff, and nothing’s changed.”

An entertainment company founded by music mogul Jay Z in 2008, Roc Nation launched its Sports divsion into boxing last August, when COO David Itskowitch posted a winning bid of more than $1.9 million for the right to promote a bout between Matt Korobov and then-WBO middleweight titleholder Peter Quillin, who eventually pulled out of the fight.

Other Roc Nation clients include Kevin Durant of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, receiver Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys and singers Shakira and Rhianna.

“Roc Nation Sports and Gary Shaw Productions have mutually agreed to part ways as a deal could not be finalized,” said Ron Berkowitz, spokesman for Roc Nation Sports and president of Berk Communications. “Roc Nation Sports wishes Gary Shaw nothing but the best of luck, and we look forward to working with him and his fighters should any opportunities present themselves.”

Bob Arum on Mayweather-Pacquiao: ‘Nobody’s listening to anybody’

Calling the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao negotiations “a dance of the deaf,” Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum offered little in the way of optimism toward the two fighters meeting on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“Nobody’s listening to anybody. I have no idea what’s going to happen,” said Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter. “I’ve never been through a situation as crazy as this. I’m tired of it. I’ve negotiated for 50 years and I’ve never been through some s–t like this.”

Arum’s assertions come nearly a week after Mayweather and Pacquiao took the talks into their own hands during an hour-long, face-to-face meeting. They also come days after a report by Yahoo! Sports blaming HBO – which has Pacquiao under contract – for stalling the discussion in an attempted joint venture with Showtime. Mayweather has fought four of six bouts thus far to satisfy a multi-million dollar agreement with Showtime and its parent company, CBS Corporation.

The scenario is similar to that which produced a fight between Lennox Lewis (HBO) and Mike Tyson (Showtime) in June 2002.

“We are not an impediment to this fight,” read a statement from HBO, in response. “We stand ready to go. The principals need to agree to terms and come to a deal.”

Arum said he has been working directly with Les Moonves, chief executive CBS Corporation, Showtime’s parent company.

“It’s only going to get settled at Moonves’ level,” said Arum, “because otherwise, it will just break up and everybody will just walk away and everybody will blame everybody and all of that s–t. That’s how I see it now.”

Arum also said, “Moonves can handle it” during an interview with ESPN.com, adding, “The question is whether the Mayweather side will listen to him. If they’re sincere about trying to make the fight, it shouldn’t be an issue. Or are they playing a game? I don’t know. I go back and forth. I thought they were always playing a game, that Floyd didn’t want the fight.”

During a Jan. 27 meeting in Pacquiao’s hotel last month, Mayweather expressed his issues toward ending the stalled negotiations. Their conversation followed an earlier courtside discussion at the Miami Heat-Milwaukee Bucks game. Among the primary concerns of Mayweather were the respective networks’ promotional documentaries, Showtime’s “All-Access” and HBO’s “24/7,” as well as which of their broadcasters would be assigned to work the fight.

During a Jan. 28 interview with RingTV.com, Pacquiao’s adviser, Michael Koncz said he had resolved Mayweather’s concerns, thus removing the final roadblock after having spoken to Arum as well as Moonves and HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler.

Apparently, however, that is not the case.

“It is craziness. It is just crazy,” said Arum. “If you knew what was going on, you would know how bizarre it is. But maybe you go through this bizarre-ness before you cross the goal line. I have nothing else to say except that it’s not over until it’s over.”

Arum two weeks ago

“We’re all done,” Arum told Fight Hub TV and others while in Colorado this week. “We’ve signed everything, agreed on all the terms. As far as we know, we’ve been told by the highest authority that Mayweather’s people have agreed, that the networks have agreed."
