OK, so when the verdict comes in this afternoon, or next week, whatever the case may be, and IF its a not guilty or involuntary, what is the purpose of rioting and looting businesses and destroying property that innocent people have worked hard to obtain? I know that we can use the "Oscar Grant was an innocent victim, too" argument, but when does 2 wrongs make a right? How will taking TVs and DVD players or liquor from a store give us 'justice' for Oscar Grant? Are the looters and rioters really out there protesting against injustice or are they people who could really give a fuck, but use this as a reason to act an ass and get free shit? If you live in Oakland, or any other city where a riot and loot situation break out, what do you do? Go along with it because 'everyone is doin it' or do you (if you really want to protest any injustices) find a suitable outlet for your anger?

That shit that happened at the Vallejo courthouse is having a VERY negative impact on my life right now. I requested some court records (which they had to dig out of the records room) on Monday, to pick up on Wednesday that I needed by today, and now I can't have them for an indefinite period of time. Thats what my punk ass gets for waiting until the last minute.
You guys don't know the full extent of the LA riots, black businesses were largely untouched but Koreans and others that didn't live in the hood, and were apart of groups that had members oppressing the hood got they shit ran and burned to the ground, and franchises too. The LA riots wasn't just because of Rodney King, it was Latasha Harlin that got killed by the store owner, and all the blacks and mexicans shot the fuck down by popo, and houses crashed in by CRASH and Daryl Gates.Yeah there were fools gangbangin and acting a fool, but just like u'll say well there's good pigs, well there's bad rioters lol. That was some real shit.
what else are we supposed to do? Do you know how long it takes to change policies. Fuck that, we'll worry about that later. We have to show them that we will not put up with this shit no more. fuck taking it to piedmont, shit on piedmont ave most of the businesses there are privately owned. same shit with downtown oakland. not alot of businesses fuck with oakland and we fuck up the few that do live and do business here. If they do riot, keep that shit at frank ogawa....or shit, move it to market street in san francisco so we can all get some free shit
from my understanding now, the la riots wern't even riots and our quote this one og athens park b-dog brother, 'bone(from that training day movie)', it wern't a riot but a "rebellion", a rebellion against decades of unrestricted police brutality and institutional racism, thats my understanding of the la riots

riots are the only thing the system and the police understand, its sad, it's a sad state of affairs thats that the case, but thats the world we live in, you can't change reality, true story and you know this, just like the punk police think human beings of colour are third class citizens and lives don't deserve any respect in any way, shape or form, this is understood, riots is the only answer to this police brutality social ill, thats all the system, system supporters and police understands and its the only time they listen, you have to fight fire wit fire out here when it comes to this type of shit, true story, real talk

but you got to understand who were dealing with here. Most people out there in the street already don't give a shit and have nothing better to do.
These folks are unable to grasp the full concept of whats going on here can only look towards a violent solution and i can't really blame them. They've been shitted on by the police their entire life and it's hard coming up out of the hood when everything you know is get bitches and get money when you look at the community around you. Its the dude with the scraper on 4's that has everyone looking at him and he's getting all the girls. Not the dude on his bike going to BART to so he can take classes at Laney.
Folks like that don't look towards the future and they like immediate results nor do they even know how to navigate their way through the system to make systemic change. They need a leader. But those days are gone. There are no more MLKs or Malcolm X. These kids are complacent with what they have, they just dont give a shit anymore. As long as they have enough to buy some rims, a grill and a new fit for the weekend they're good. It's sad but true, and only perpetuates the same shit their community has been going through forever. Same cycle.
That's why they loot, it's all about who can make the quickest come up. Not to mention its a change to form a mob and finally get back at the police without them getting caught.
It's the kid thats taking his bike to Laney who will be the one who gets an education and runs for office. But there are too few like him. he gets older and smarter and forgets where he comes from and doesnt want to give back to the community who never gave him shit.
