As far as i can tell brick squad doesn't have a distribution deal & is more of a crew than an actual label. Young Thug & Scooter are still on FreeBandz & Keef is still on Interscope.

hold on what happened to keef chiefs two million dollar deal with interscope or did they drop him? i dont keep up with dudes music or news
I had the same question when I saw that.

The answer is probably what 0R0 said - he will be a member of the crew, i.e. he gets to work with them, direct access to beats and collaborations, etc., but that does not necessarily mean he is "signed" in the conventional sense

yea but neither label really drops projects that need distribution, its 98% free online mixtapes now. plus their respective CEOs are the only ones who have printed up physical copies or dropped projects carrying warner's name.

Which reminds me of another major questions I have always had - how are they making money given that it's all free mixtapes?

Waka has said himself that he doesn't need to sell records as long as he gets the kind of money he is getting from live appearances.

But does the same apply to all the other artists in the crew that keep putting out mixtapes?

usually when your a new artist signed you cant do taht unless you have permission. but then again all these mixtapes are FREE also. so they wont make money off them unless they do shows at some night club performing the tracks

i doubt that warner is willing to support albums from guys like cartel mgm or joe moses or money mouse
warner bros dont deal with rap or black music no more the focus on rock now. they got rid of that urban market during the merge and gave all they rappers and shit to labels rca, sony, epic, atlantic. thats why maybach records had to go to atlantic. freebandz is on epic records too.
