Realistically, Blount should have got a 2 game suspension for punching dude and 2 games for what he did afterward.
He was definitely provoked and dude from Idaho should have a 2 game suspension as well.
Hout talked shit and got what he deserved.
Also. that was in no way a "sucker punch"
And even if it was, who gives a fuck. If someone is talking shit to me like that I will purposely wait until they turn their back on me to punch them. Shit, wait until they go home and go to sleep and then suplex them while their sleeping. Fuck rules in a fight, the only purpose is to inflict the most damage and not get caught.
If you touch another man at any point in time for any reason, expect to get hit. You can talk all the shit you want but you cross the line when you touch another man.
I dont know about Idaho and the Northwest but in the rest of the world, talking shit + touching that person = punches thrown.

i think this is fucking bullshit, Oregon is acting way to harsh. Just like the Boise State coach said its just players letting their emotions get the best of them. Hes a bitch for socking dude up with his helmet on and not walking off the feild right after. But ruining this young guys career over this is bullshit..
i think a suspension for the hit would have happened but when you go after fans for talking shit when that happens in every sport then u deserve to be suspended. He has to learn to control his emotions or I dont think many teams will want to take a chance on him. To me the going after fans is worthy of the suspension for the year

And I wouldn't agree with the judge in that situation anymore than I agree with the one-sided punishment in this situation.
IMO if someone says something that could be interpreted as fighting words (and I don't want to make this a discussion of what could be interpreted as fighting words but suffice to say "fuck you" is enough) then whatever happens after that should be acceptable retaliation. That is only IMO though.

All I heard blount say was "we owe them an ass whopping" if he said more let me know but as far as I am concerned, "fuck you" and "we owe them an ass whoppin" are not in the same ballpark.

I agree that is they how it is considered by societal perspective in general but I am willing to let everyone call me a bitch, as long as the dude is more fucked up then I am, that all I care about.

IMO, there is a big difference between smack talk during a game and walking up to sometime after beating them, slapping them anywhere on the body, and saying something disrespectful.
