Back when I was majoring in film, a fellow film student read a screenplay that I had wrote and when he was done I asked him if he thought it was too melodramatic... he responded by saying "No, I like it, its melo-traumatic" I thought about it and that term fit perfectly for the screenplay. The contrast of the two terms "mellow" and "trauma" seemed to fit my life as well. Been using it ever since.

My boy gave me this name back at the end of 1997 when i first met him. He actually believed I was suicidal, and he kept telling me that. At that time, I didn't have a rap name yet, so we cut it in half and spelled it differently, and there ya have it.
