I see where King of the O is coming from. 40 does'nt have to protest in the streets of Oakland, but it would have been impactful to see him out there. He is "the streets'' and this shit hit home in the streets. At the same time making songs and showing up at Fruitvale Bart station doesn't make you a black panther. In some Cases it makes you seem more opportunist than activist. 40 might Be giving his money, he might not...only 40, the family and god knows. I think to much is being put into shit like rappers songs and them doing public attention campaigns and not enough on GRANT & HIS FAMILY. No disrespect to the rappers that showed their faces, but that doesn't always show your down it sometimes shows your an attention whore who loves the camera by any means. In a way I'm glad I didn't see 40 or Short out there because they wouldn't have had helped do anything at that moment, but take away focus from the issue at hand. I saw other artist doing other forms of protest and it was just as admorable. At the end of the day had this issue had been buried away from the national media/ public THEN 40's ''star power" would have been needed, but the video footage did that. The people made sure justice was going to have to be served...Not FAB (no disrespect). The people jumped on this cause because it was wrong and would have done so with or without 40, Short, Fab, Keak, Kafani or anybody else that people ''think'' could have brought national attention to this tragic situation.

real talk, its not like the attention would have not been there without those artist that did show up. the one thing that made this get media attention in the first place was the footage from the camera phone and also the fact that no real action was taken at first in this matter. oakland community all came out in support of justice and to see that equal law applies to everybody. now on the fact that we bicker about artist that dont show or do show up to support really is worthless many people are taking certain context of rap lyrics out of place and thinking that what the artist talk about is what there suppose to really be about. now granted there are the few artisit out there that live what they rap about and thats all go i aint knocking nobody on that,,so 40 didnt show its not the end of the world

This shit comedy. If thats what it takes to revoke someone pass than every rappers passes should be revoke. I didnt see any of them in ny say anything about sean bell when he got killed. so jay-z, nas, and any of those others get revoked. How about that kid got shot in Louisiana. he got shot 14 times in his back not one Louisiana rapper stepped up. so them cash money nigs should get their pass revoke. How about you. where you out protesting? dont say shit if you wasnt there doing it. Not everyone is political and why does it have to be just rappers. None of those r & b singers showed up.

lmfao @ expecting e-40 to be at every protest, event, function and to back every single artist in the bay. E-40 is not Santa Claus, Jesus Christ, The Tooth fairy or Al Sharpton. He's doing with rap what the majority of you can only imagine.

That's real talk...I was watching the footage and I think it was FAB who said something like "where the other rappers at". When I saw that I was thinking WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT YOU OR ANY RAPPER A MAN IS DEAD! Not to say that Fab is in this boat, but it is down right arrogant for a person to think a person REALLY wants to hear what they have to SAY when their is a dead young man, a fatherless child and an officer in Navada chillin at his friends spot while the city of Oakland was in full on riot mode. It reminds me of when David Chapelle was talking about MTV doing an interview with Ja Rule after 9-11 had just happend. He had nothing profound to say. He was no expert, nor a scholar of any sort...the nigga made pop hip-hop songs. Same rule applies here. 40 might not of had anything to say because he was smart enough to know HE HAD NOTHING TO SAY. Not that he didn't feel for Osacar Grant, but he isn't an activist putting in work 24/7 for the community (not just during Chrismas, Thanks Giving and Back To School donated back pack day). I would have rather MTV talked to Kontac, because of his daily dedication to the youth everyday. He makes music that reflects the views of someone for the kids and his LIFE reflects it aswell. I think The Frontline runs a program for needy kids in Richmond. Talk to PARIS, he had a scholarship fund in conjunction with his last album. Not to say that these people are saints or better than anyother, but they all seem to have daily interactions or involvement with the youth away from trying to get them to buy their albums and they are all college educated. Just my 2 cents.
