nah, i am stuck out here in one of the richest snotty areas in our nation. i live in the hamptons on long island. Glen cove is on long island though too if it is a town you talkin about. it's about an hour away. and i haven't heard of the mara salvatrucha either. there is so much shit goin on in the city, you really almost have to dig for gang shit except for really well known ones. i wonder if it is 18th st what intersection or area is it, or borough(bronx, manhattan, queens...etc.) let me know
i bet if i got pulled over in the same place with a bat in my car they wouldnt have done shit except give me a fix it ticket for the light. i mean ive usually got at least two bats in the car at all times (really for baseball though).

MaraSalvatrucha and 18 street are the 2 most hated and largest gangs in Los Angeles. MS is usually Salvadorean immigrants banding together and blowing up shit with guerilla (?) tactics... they are often chunty lookin but vicious. Despite their Salvadorean heritage, they are indeed Southerners and pay taxes to get that 13 in their name. 18 is more Mexican and not anywhere near as full of foreigners. 18 is THE biggest single gang in LA period (Since "Sur" is not a single gang per-say and neither is "Crips" or "Bloods"... they are the overall factor... you know what i mean!). There are many 18st factions and thousands of neighborhoods across CA as a whole (and I have heard even in other states). MS is also located in other states. Both MS and 18st supposedly have large sets in El Salvador.
FYB is right...at this point MS and 18th St. are international gangs. Since the the anti-terrorist law passed in the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing, the U.S. has been deporting immigrant gang members back to their home countries. This has had a devastating effect on El Salvador because people end up being deported to a country where they have no family or basis for support, and no way to get a job or go to school because they are covered in gang tattoos so they are rejected from the gate. hmmmmmmmmm, makes me wonder. there are a shitload of immigrants up here on long island. from all over central america. alot from el salvador and guatemala. they don't ever look at me wierd or nothing. they never trip, maybe it's cause it's always like one or 2 of them and i am like 6 inches taller than them. but i do see alot of them wearing flue rags. but i could just be looking to far into it and they maybe just trying to scrape out a living to get back to their families in their native countries. i have only been to NYC a few times, never really seen any gang type shit or anything related. no graffiti really at all that i have seen in queens, where i have been eNeways. but i wonder where these fools are hiding if they are out here. it also makes it tough cause if i haven't seen them, i am sure there are less nortenos up here, so i know i'd be outnumbered. i guess i'll see the time some fool say's que onda ese, and i reply back with eNe. y'all might not hear from me again.
