Damn good shit. I dont think title matches the song, but it could work.
What did you use for the drums?
Mix is good too. There's so many instruments, but somehow you still managed to get a good mix. My instruments always seem to lose too many frequencies because I try to EQ them and filter them to fit them in the mix. (I know there's two other dimensions of mixing too)
I appreciate the feedback dude.
I just throw random titles on my beats. Rather than, Beat 001, Beat 002, Beat 003, and so forth.
Drums are from my library, which I constantly update. I keep what I like and just get rid of whatever I don't like. Makes it easier when your trying to match up certain kicks, or snare hits for a specific beat. For these, I used Battery to host them, and mix them. I dropped the tone down on the kick a few points to give it a deeper feel, I also dropped the snare down in tone, as well as the hats. Added some simple EQ, Compression and Reverb until they sounded right and that's pretty much it for the drums. Look into Battery if you don't already have it.
There actually isn't too much going on in the beat, I don't like cluttered beats, this beat mainly just consists of bass fills and tom fills, leading into hits, and a few melodies in between. A gritty little bass synth on the chorus. A few other small parts. Simple is better!
As far as mixing, it takes practice, I work at improving my mix every time I get in the studio. My mix never meets my own standards, so I'm constantly improving it. Stay light on the effects, keep your levels down, and pan those instruments until they sound right.
Thanks for checking me out.
