Hey nitro I think the bulls never needed the refs to win one of their titles. And that's what i hate the most bout them fakers. I wouldn't say anything bout them if they'd have won one title with sum fair officiating but I think that'll never happen.

Jordan had his own rules when he was with the Bulls, I thought that was common knowledge. i.e. When they beat the Jazz on Jordan's "game winner at the buzzer", I remember thinking, "Wow, Utah just beat the Bulls" because Mike had CLEARLY commited an offensive foul in throwing Bryon Russell to the floor to make that jumper. Then...no whistle. Nothing. The NBA had gotten exactly what they wanted and could not have scripted a better ending. I was in shock. But, so goes the NBA. It's a BUSINESS. Designed to make money FIRST, entertain, second.

As far as the Lakers last three Championships* go, I'd say only the second one was a clean victory. The first was handed to them on a silver platter after a complete meltdown by the Blazers (worst in NBA playoff history). No way (unless you're an extremly myopic Laker fan) do you look back at that game seven and think the 'show "beat" Portland on their own merit.

And the third Championship*? Please, it's common knowledge all three refs got down on their collective knees and sucked the Lakers off to completion in game 6. Now game 7? The Kings choked, no doubt about it, and I'm a Kings fan. But, it should have never came down to a game 7. Sacramento clearly had the 'show against the ropes and was well on it's way to the Championship round before that debacle.

Yeah and that money making is also the reason why they want the fakers to be champion again cause a small town like sacramento which isn't as famous around the world wouldn't bring the nba as much money as they get through L.A. . I think 99 when the Spurs won the title was a bad year for the nba cause they couldn't capitalize that much on the Spurs.

As far as the refs partaking in any of the lakers three rings. The only two questionable games are the two you brought up. Lets talk about them. I still to this day cannot believe the Lakers overcame a 15 point defecit in the last minutes of the 4th quater. Do i beleieve it was impossible without the refs? No. But it is not logical that any team can do that. I admit they got a call or two but you have to look at it like this, no matter how much the refs wanted the Lakers to win, they wernt blocking the Blazers shots... Portland did not sink a single basket in that entire run towards the end, thats something the refs cannot accomplish, and a BIG reason why they lost. Then there is game 6 against the Kings, fuck i dont know what to tell you, if i was a Kings fan i would have been pissed. But how would you like it if we started beatin up divac every time he got the ball under the rim, not sometimes, EVERY time. How would you like it if we fouled his ass towards the end of the game when his ass dont have the ball just to send him to the line, and lets asume for just a second that divac is your leading scorer and horrible at the free throw line. You think that is fair basketball? This happens game after game for SHAQ, not in game 6 or game 7, EVERY game. Its not a coincidence 1-3 players foul out every playoff game guarding SHAQ. Im not justifying those 2 games as the Lakers deserved it, personally, to me, its just a matter of; thats the way the cookie crumbles. Im just trying to explain its not as simple as "it was the refs! all the refs!". Im trying to show you a different perspective, something to think about.

You're right on Nitro. If you re-read my post, I wasn't implying the Blazers had help from the refs to choke away that 15 point lead. They did that on their own. Hence, I said they gave that series away to the Lakers. As fas as the Hack-a-Shaq mentality goes, it's a tactic. What else are opposing coaches supposed to do? Shaq is too dominant. The centers who are tall enough are too light in the ass. The centers who are heavy enough, are too short or way under skilled to deal with O'Neals physical play. So they do what they gotta do. You gotta admit, Shaq is no saint in the lane. Camping out, clearing the defender out with a shoulder tackle, or crossing the line on free throws. It all comes out in the wash.

That sort of causes a chain reaction though. I think the refs might favor shaq a little in the lane because of what happens to him when he gets the ball... so it ends up like this. Ill admit Shaq gets some lenience when hes in the lane because of reasons i just stated. So the refs arnt calling every 3sec/shoulder that happens, SHAQ is sittin there thinking hes got it made and of course he will never stop. Another reason they dont call it so much, is cause people have a tendancy to fall on purpose when guarding SHAQ. They see a montrous guy, they think they can fall every time cause he has the power to throw people down like that (i think divac ruined it for alot of players). Also the refs can see a little more then we can, so there is more then meets the eyes. All in All, yes in some games SHAQ gets critical calls, some that may or may not determine the outcome of a single game. I want to say it all evens out from what he goes through, but i know if i were a kings fan, i wouldnt think so, so ill leave it at that.

There are plenty of things I don't like here and threads I simply pass up because I don't wanna dog pile all over <insert team here> fan when his team is down. Chris Webber said something a week or so ago that really struck a cord in me. I'm going to paraphrase here so bare with me, he said something like, "Teams better get their kicks in now, because when we're healthy, it's gonna be on." Basically he was saying, let people talk all the talk they want, he and the other Kings know exactly what they're working with.

The Sacramento Kings are the reigning Pacific Division Champs and are real-deal Championship contenders. No stumble out the gate is gonna change that. So I don't have to come in here and pound my chest and defend what should already be accepted dogma. Sacramento will be in the playoffs and no one, save for the Lakers (and vice versa) wants to see them in any round.

Both the 'show and the Kings will be fine. The whole package may not be there when we'd like, but they're always on time.
