REVENGE OF THE BAY AREA I HOPE HE WORKS WITH BAY RAPPERS OR IF HE SAVES IT FOR HIS ALBUM BUT THAT WOULD BE DOPE TO HAVE SUCH ARTISTS LIKE THE JACK ON HIS MUSIC
A lot of the criticism Ya Boy gets is that he drops too many mixtapes, which is why most of his shit sounds repetitive. But as a Ya Boy fan, what would you rather have...A rushed album with little promo, or a steady flow of music that is better IMO than a lot of other shit on this coast? YB seems to still be looking for the right label situation, maybe that's it's taken so long to for him to announce his album plans. Niggas need to quit complaining and support good music. If you don't think the music is good...K.I.M (Keep It Movin).
Ya Boy has just been trying to get a buzz in LA which is obviously the right way of going about doing things cuz unfortunately Bay artists dont get play outside the bay really. He never turned his back on the bay, folks on the internet create these reasons for disliking artists and more and more jump on the wagon. As long as he has that flow he will be always be a good rapper. His last great release was the Rise but that doesnt mean he doesnt have plenty of slaps on his newer mixtapes.
Ok well it's called "Revenge of the Bay Area" so he should have a couple of Bay rappers on his shit. Folks it's time to UNITE like the south. You hear Gucci with Ross with Yo Gotti but you don't hear Bay rappers too much with each other. That's what mixtapes are for, you ride someones song and you throw a half ass flow and sometimes you get as hit out of it like Gucci Mane. A lot of times you wait a year for Bay rappers to drop and then it doesn't live up to the hype. Bay rappers need to hop on the mixtape game because thats how the South is winning.
There's no spirit of collaboration. I can have a ridiculous beat on hand but can't get two f***in established rappers to work on it together. I was trying to get Ya Boy and Doey Rock on this track, both good to hop on it and then i can't get in touch with ya boy for months. then Ya boy is like "i'm recordin to that shit, make sure its exclusive for me" but doesn't bother to follow up... and the whole point of the track was to have some of cali's best flow all in one track. i wanted more people too but gettin good artists to work together is a real pain. and it fukkking SHOULDN'T be.
^So the fuck what? Where in the rulebook does it say a nigga is required to have Bay artists featured on his shit? He's from the Bay, that's enough for me.
"revenge of the bay area" is his play on words. he's bringing himself back musically, not other bay area artists. he's known as the bay area to southern cali.
