Yes, clearly working with someone who has the best selling single of the year so far - selling 5+ million, is career suicide.
Clearly you don't understand "not selling out" mackelmore will not be around in 1 year or 10 years. Raided has been around for 20+ years with no radio play, I'm pretty sure Raided will be around long after the artist of the "year" mackelmore will be long and gone

How is it selling out tho? Is it because he's popular and mainstream at the moment? Because he's white? Or because his genre isn't gangsta rap and/or the same as X?

What if they worked together 3 years ago when he was still a nobody, would that have been different?

Either way, I do see a bit where you're coming from - I understand your point. But from a business/exposure standpoint, do you see mine?

Trying to shy away from the usual Sicc standpoint of "I'M RIGHT YOU'RE WRONG."

i doubt it. Macklemore will probably never top his radio and mainstream success he has now, but he has a huge super devoted fanbase. he'll still be a big cult artist in 10 years, if he continues to put out music.

I don't follow him hella but I kinda get the impression that he will move on to other things. Music seems like it is just one of his passions.

Not saying im right or your wrong, I see your point too. I wasn't speaking in black/white terms more so because he's for hipsters whereas Raided like someone else said is for gangsters and wannabes.

I see your point for sure man. I think a x-raided macklemore song would be kinda cool in like a novelty, listen to it twice kinda thing.

yeah.. i wasn't thinking in terms of the majority of X's fans loving it so much, but in terms of macklemore's fan base being put up on X - realistically a lot, maybe even most, wouldn't look much into it... but the small percentage that would could potentially add up to a lot of exposure - i think it would be a good for a mainstream resurrection of his name building up to his release from prison.

i can dig that.
