Yeah, it is protection. But what happeneds when they fuck that up, they become a drop out of a drop out set that they joined when they dropped out from another set. Once you go down( become disloyal) you can't come back( become loyal again) no matter what gang you join next, because that fact remains that they didn't work with the rules and obligations and if they break once they can break again so why even give it another shot. Anyone of those d.o's could turn their back on the other, so it's really a fucked up form of protection that doen't consist of trust and loyalty. If they were equiped with loyalty and dedication then they wouldn't be in there predicament. And I never said nor acted as if gangs didn't start from protection.

In a first for california five Monterey County men are facing criminal charges that they committed a crime to benefit the northern riders a rapidly growing norteno dropout group, a gang officer revealed this week.
