How many streetfights have you seen that go to the ground (if any)?

I take them to the ground all the time. Once I get a hold of dude, he's going up and coming back down hard. That's my preferred method. More damage gets done that way and you look just as bad getting dipped as you do getting clobbered on your feet.

My dad always told me you can KO them on their feet, but that pretty much ends the fight. If you take them down, you can work their asses however you want before you go for that KO.

had nothing to do with ground knowledge. The last takedown he did a good job at keeping his arm from getting pinned at first, but once you get 260lbs on your arms and you're butterflied out theres not much you can do. If he would of got just a little bit of extra energy when he pushed off the fence for the reversal he would of done some damage.

Kimbo aint shit in MMA. Perfect example of why tough ass bar/street fighters cant make it in MMA. Once they get taken to the ground they cant do shit.

Kimbo needs to train for at least another 2 years JUST on ground game before he can even think of steppin back into the octegon. He will get taken down and either TKO'd or tapped out every time. Or just get caught by no namers with weak punches lol. Dana shouldnt give Kimbo the light of day after this for a long time. He got his chance twice and he blew it.

Kimbo is a boxer...he had no clue what to do on the ground. If you aint got a ground game you will never make it as a mma fighter...yes u might get a few knockouts...but ur eventually going to the ground..then what? Any half ass fighter with a half ass ground game can tie up kimbo...he repeatedly gave up the full mount but dude didnt capitalize on that...he just held his arms down with his belly and knee and popped him in the top of the dome repeatedly untill the ref called it

Only reason people discuss Kimbo so much is because of the huge hype he has surrounding him when he first got into it. NOONE has ever stepped into the cage with more hype prior than Kimbo. I dont think people are necassarely rooting for him, they just all wanted him to do what he did in the youtube videos.

Iv never been a fan of Kimbo. I wont lie like 5 years ago I was showin hella people his video of fuckin dudes up. But I would never consider myself a fan of Kimbo. I knew he wouldnt do shit when he got to UFC. Everyone I showed those vids to, were always like man this dude needs to try out for UFC! And I was like umm no, he wont do shit. They were like noooo u see him knock these dudes out, he will kill in UFC! And again I had to explain, its alot different from fighting some big black dude in a back yard who dont know shit, to fighting a trained mixed martial arts fighter who actually learns how to defend, take down, tap out and counter punch. Kimbo NEVER fought someone like that before UFC.

It should be no surprise to anyone of the way his career has gone so far in UFC. Look at Brock Lesnar, he didnt know shit about ground game or takedowns or defending himself. He just went in against Frank Mir and just wanted to take his head off and then got tapped out. Trained for 2 years on his ground game and destroyed Mir. This is what Kimbo needs to do. I aint rootin for him, but if he wants to make it he needs to train for a while and stop fighting.

And by the way I heard last night he was in porn before joining UFC is this fuckin true? I really hope not!!!!
