Tht is when it happens most. Why do you call SP supernatural assault?
Its not a term I came up with. Researcher David Hufford came up with that term after studying many cultures around the world and determined that there is a spiritual aspect, usually of a sinister nature associated with the phenomenon.

i think mythologically speaking, people would think demons are holding them down.
Some "see" them as you seen the dog, but that happens when your mind is halfway in dream world still, and the dream world appears to manifest in your so-called waking life.

Yeah, I checked the link 2-0, posted and gathered some info from there and started looking online for more info.
I have been reading about this a big part of my day yesterday.
I read a lot of personal stories as well and there were more people who would identify the things they saw as 'demons'. I was glad to read that wasn't the only one.

How many of you are sleeping on your back?
I already had suspicions of this connection between sleeping on my back and having this SP.

Do you still experiment with lucid dreaming, by the way? And did you ever experience SP?
I have read some stories yesterday you could 'train' to get in that state of sleep paralysis.
Some people would use this state to get an 'out of body experience'.

as soon as your body starts to fall asleep your muscles are saturated with a chemical that keeps you from moving.. so you don't go running into a wall etc.. while you're dreaming.. it happens everytime you go to sleep... your minds just waking into the regular waking state without your body having caught up yet..

If it happens you can change up your breathing to really fast or really slow and that will signal your body/mind that you're awake and it'll start to undo everything...

you can also lay on your back while you fall asleep and make sure you don't move at all ... no movement! and you can witness the sleep paralysis start to come on... its a method used with lucid dreaming practices... you stay awake while the system shuts down for the sleep state

Thankfully this hasn't happened to me. This is fairly common tho, from what I've heard of 1st hand accounts it seems christians see demons more often than those of different beliefs during these episodes.

If you have visual phenomena occuring during sleep paralysis never forget the entity/entities you're experiencing are terrifying no doubt but they can't kill you. Take the perspective that anything experienced in those states are likened to projections of your own mind.. or of consciousness in general. The experience is equivalent to a psychedelic trip, all dreaming is, and the waking state for that matter but the waking state is more controlled and stable. Tibetan buddhists practice Dream Yoga(lucid dreaming) as one of their completion practices to cut through fear.

I personally can't seem to get lucid during dreaming.. wish i could.. theres some individuals on this planet that never go unconscious except for when deep sleep occurs because that state can't be experienced. But from the waking state to the dream state they keep awareness and are always at a high level of lucidity... shits crazy... full experience almost constantly i'd like to train myself to be able to do that seems you'd get alot more out of life while you're here instead of blanking out into nothingness every night.

Heres some show on the malevolent visual phenomena that accompanies sleep paralysis.

There is a simply explaination for what you are experiencing it is the preliminary proccess of you coming out of the closet. You are having semi gay dreams that will eventualy lead to you propostioning yor best boy to give him some head. This is well documented in Greek society with various rulers who had similar occurences. There is realy nothing you can do except follow your impulses. Glad I could be of help with your delima...let me know how everything turned out.

Sleep apnea is when your automated breathing while asleep stops and your body wakes you up because otherwise you'd die.. so you wake up not breathing and depending on how long you haven't been breathing it can be pretty shocking and intense. The scare with sleep apnea is that if the condition gets bad you can die if you don't wake up in time. Sleep apneas common with people who snore alot because breathing becomes labored and the respiratory system isn't getting oxygen necessary to function properly.

He's talking about sleep paralysis though... different type of sleep phenomena but is common to probably most organisms that sleep. And sleep paralysis isn't dangerous.. just weird and annoying maybe. In sleep paralysis your eyes and breathing aren't paralyzed... most functions that don't belong to "you" in the first place and are natural happenings like the heart beating and breathing etc... stay active. Sleep paralysis has the weird visual phenomena though thats what some were talking about on here.. like a half dream half waking state hallucinations.. or actual entities.. who knows.. interesting shit though.
