I am just curious, but are the condoms they are claiming have holes that the virus can pass through the sheep skin condoms? Because those ones actually do have holes that viruses pass through. Or are they claiming latex condoms have the holes?

And by the way, everyone in the Catholic Church is not a child molester. That is just another excuse people can use for not going to church, that all priests are child molesters. However, they should NOT have had to hold a council to decide on the matter when it came up.
latex condoms

And yes, I am aware that not all Catholics are child molesters.

I don't believe in orginized religion...,

my exact words

so in your own words abstinance is better than condoms. and yet when they promote abstinance, which is what they are doing here you call them irresponsible.
Oh my. Of course abstinance is better than condoms! But seriously, which method do you think is used most? They should be promoting abstinance, but also saying that if you're not gonna abstain, then use a fuckin condom to at least LOWER the risk of spreading/catching a disease!!!

The church opposes any kind of contraception because it claims it breaks the link between sex and procreation - a position Pope John Paul II has fought to defend.

This is some fuckin bullshit to me. So they're basically like, "Even if you have AIDS, don't use a condom cuzz you're breaking the link between sex & procreation?!?!?!

How can Cardinal Trujillo claim to know more about condoms & disease than the World Health Organization???

In Kenya - where an estimated 20% of people have the HIV virus - the church condemns condoms for promoting promiscuity and repeats the claim about permeability. The archbishop of Nairobi, Raphael Ndingi Nzeki, said: "Aids... has grown so fast because of the availability of condoms."

So wouldn't AIDS also be spreading super fast in other parts of the world, as well???

Sex and the Holy City includes a Catholic nun advising her HIV-infected choirmaster against using condoms with his wife because "the virus can pass through".

So fuck it, just don't use a condom & give the woman HIV anyway, huh?

Gordon Wambi told the programme: "Some priests have even been saying that condoms are laced with HIV/Aids."

These kinds of statements are made by one of 2 kinds of people:
1. people who are uneducated
2. people who have an alterior motive.

But seriously, governments do some pretty scandalous things sometimes, so if this statement ever proved to be true, I wouldn't be surprise.

How can someone seriously defend these allegations? I'm really heated about this article.

It's scientifically impossible to lace a condom with HIV/AIDS. First off, theres nothing for the virus to live off of and second even if there was, the condom is packaged and sealed and typically stays sealed for quite some time before being opened.

Your right, either these people are absolutely undeducated, insane or have an alterior motive.

Duh...=) I was just sayin that if they DID find a way to spread HIV/AIDS that way, I wouldn't be surprised. Ya know THEY find ways to do a lot...nuff said.

i really dont understand you mclean, seriously, you tried to find every loop hole in the article to protect the church instead of realizing that they are ignorant, selfish, simple minded spreaders of bad information to people who may not have the means to know better. if they want to stress abstinence, then why dont they just say it. theyre trying to control others in any way they can to do what they think is right. i dare you to respond to what i said in any other way than agreement, it would be unintelligent, biased, and ignorant. and 2-0, dont think your safe, your the other extreme, the church isnt worthless, just like all athiests arent as smart as they think (2-0)

look abstinance is their position. I cant change it, you cant change it, all the cardinals in the world cant change it. only the pope can, and he wont do so. because that is the position of the Catholic Church.

Now while i do agree that condoms would help and i disagree that they dont work, in a continent that is infested with the disease the best way to go by far would be abstinance, because eventually there is a good chance that the condom will break (10%) and it will all be for nothing. abstinance will keep the abstainers healthy and the non-abstainers not so healthy. but by pushing the condom route eventually some people might feel safe with the condoms which would have otherwise abstained.

there position may be abstinence. however, your dodging THE FUCKING SITUATION. THEY may want people to be abstinent (completely fucking ridiculous, sex is the strongest urge in the body) but they dont say "dont have sex because its wrong" they lie about it, thats the fuckin problem dood, this isnt about condoms its about the BULLSHIT theyre spewing.

Yeah but the official take is that the "church" hasn't said anything about this bishop or the others. They're basically speaking out of their own opinion.

Either way, it's as if these jack asses are trying to be jack asses.
Amazing....
