I see where you comin from. Your words are those of a person struggling with the paradox of proprietorship.
On one hand you know that love shared is what brings the most happiness. Love and friendship are things which are intangible, they cannot be bought, bottled up, or "given" to one another. They are things which can only be *experienced*. You cannot "own" them and they are very elusive.
On the other hand, your mind laments about material possessions. And in direct contrast to what you *KNOW* about love and happiness and how it cannot be "owned", your mind is equating happiness with the number and opulence of the possessions you keep. It is self vs. self. One side want to be selfless and give everything you have to a greater cause than yourself, and on the other side you are lusting for material sense gratification and you want to enjoy the objects of your lust. Both of these are natural because they are opposing sides of 1 mind. We all start out with a dualistic mind yet ultimately we are one single self.
The way out of the trappings of dualistic thinking is to seriously study the metaphysical component to your own existence and the existence of others, from which you can gradually *realize* the spiritual reality of life. When you FACTUALLY see the eternal spirit soul residing within your own body and the bodies of others, you will see how temporary and illusory all the material opulences of the world are, and your taste for acquiring them will diminish.
When you stop hankering after material possessions you will experience TRUE HAPPINESS, and that happiness comes as a result of your realizing that you are actually awake and now liberated from the material world. A practical way to see past the duality is to analyze the self. Find out exactly WHO YOU ARE.
The greedy voice is not who YOU are, it is simply a sense of yours desiring to enjoy something.
Follow me: There is the physical, which is what your body is, then there is the metaphysical, which is what your mind is. 'Meta'-physical obviously means "above the" physical. It is physical interactions taking place on an inconceivably more subtle level than we can perceive of. The thoughts and workings of our minds take place within this metaphysical realm.
Now, it is easy to notice that our thoughts are separate from our material bodies. We can think "outside" of our bodies. Many people think they are their minds, they are the centrial *I* around which all their thoughts are circulating.
Yet if you analyze closer, you will notice that *you* are not your thoughts either. There is a collection of memories in your brain, and your mind is the medium through which they are relived. Yet behind the mind there is an orchestrator who is directing the thoughts of the mind and which is *choosing* the memories which are relived. This unseen director is *you*. The mind is simply the vessel through which your consciousness is expressed.
Think about how many times you have said something like "I got my mind made up" or "In my mind..".
Notice that when a person says "*I* got my mind made up", they are speaking simultaneously in the first and third person. They are saying *I* that am speaking now, have got *MY* mind made up. The *I* is claiming possession of the mind, thereby establishing that the *I* is a SEPARATE entity from the mind itself.
So the *I* that is speaking, is not the mind itself, it is something behind it. The *I* is a reference point for each individual, yet it is not the body, nor the mind which is referring to it. The *I* is the SELF, which is the spirit soul in each of us. That *I* is the proof of the existence of an entity connected to yet separate from the body/mind which is formulating the thought of *I*. That separate entity is the soul.
This material world is an illusion playa. We have to wake up and see it as it is, when we do so that sublime happiness will make itself manifest.
That's because you are not asking God any questions. You are asking them to your own mind which is filled with preconceived notions and ideas of God. Since your prior opinions and bias is such that God does not exist, how can you be said to be asking God a question?
You have to know who the person is that you are asking a question of before you can ask them anything. You are asking your own mind a question, and because your mind believes there is no God, it will not answer itself.
Because you are asking your mind questions and not God Himself, you will not know when He is speaking to you or what He is saying.

all who wander are not lost, if you feel that you are lost, search
for GOD, if you find him he will guide you. Look deep into yourself.
If you want to take me seriously, make a commitment to yourself. pray every night before you go to bed, let everything off of your chest and keep an open mind, dont close your mind for the mind is the mind is a pathway to the soul. it is your temple, if you invite GOD in s/he may stay for a while.
