Yo Chris did you ever see Hopkins vs Echols II? That was one of the dirtiest fights ever and also one of the most entertaining fights I can recall. Echols tried to out-dirty the master and that shit backfired big time!

Here are the highlights for anyone interested:

actually not I didn't. I didn't have cable for like 4 years at one point and tried to catch up on most of the fights I cared about by buying dvd's or looking online but I never saw this one

do yourself a favor and watch that Echols II fight. It was very entertaining.

Hopkins is a dirty fighter when he wants to be but that's not what makes him good. He didn't use any dirty tactics against Trinidad, Tarver, Pavlik, Oscar, Glen Johnson, and most other guys.

Hopkins has a strategy for every opponent and against some guys his strategy is to be rough and frustrate them (calzaghe, echols). Other times it's to out-box them and break them down (Trinidad, Pavlik, Tarver), other times it's be aggressive and punish them (glen Johnson, et al during that time period).
