*in my best bizzy bone crazy voice* yes YES YESSS YEESSSSSSSSS. DISCUSS, DISCUSS, DISSSSSCUSSSSSSS!!!
I knew the main response from making this thread would be to ignore racism and disregard it, AS USUAL. Good shit HERESY, lace them up.
RENT THE MOVIE, Jae Ill that would be tight if they did come back together and share their views now.
Check out the trailer: http://www.stirfryseminars.com/video/cof.mov also the sequel (long discussion, 2nd part of the full discussion) http://www.stirfryseminars.com/video/cof2.mov
"Most people who view this film are deeply moved. Long after it is over, they continue to talk with each other about the feelings, thoughts and memories the video stirred in them. The dialogue in the video -- —real, arousing and eventually hopeful -- —is an example of the national dialogue WE ALL NEED to have on race and ethnicity."
I used to be a lot like you White folk, disregard it, racism was a looooong time ago etc. Yeah it's definitely better than it was 20 years ago BUT it was just 20 years ago which wasn't too long ago, racism just doesn't go away like that. I never had any problems w/ racism UNTIL I was pulled over by police. That experience changed my feelings toward police. Now that I'm older and educated, I've experienced racism like I never thought I ever would when I was younger. Racism is here and if we don't discuss it, the problem will never go away. View the trailers above, I'm beggin' y'all to watch the film!! There's 3 parts, the first one should dramatically change your perception of Racism in today's world. RENT IT and then discuss.
