problem is that there is no longer room for emotion in mainstream hip hop. I cant even remember the last hip hop song I heard on radio that didnt have dance/club theme as its main selling point. Maybe it's the radio station i listen to, but seriously, i cant name one rap song in the past 2 years on radio that isnt dance/club shit or envoked the slightest hint of anything else.

IMO, i feel that many people are using hip pop to make them happy and forget about how shitty times are for this country and the gloomy future it holds. Back during the depression a lot of music tended to be on the uplifting side, not to say there werent songs about standing in line to get some food, but during times of unrest and turmoil, the music that comes out seems to do the exact opposite as the times of the nation, and what people want to hear is feel good music.

Look at the 70's when gas prices were high and economic recession was around the corner. Disco came to the rescue to lighten everyone up. Does this scenario sound familiar? I think it does.

I think One good Time is an amazing song, and would love to see it get pushed as a single, but do you really think the youth of today want to hear a song about crying and depression, when they could be listening to some shit like T pain or Soulja Boy and forget about how it cost $4.00+ a gallon to put gas in their car and that our country is in a state of uneasiness?

Thats why a club/ dance song IMO is still the best route to push as a single. Get one song out, then maybe you can push the emotional stuff.

I think that there needs to be 2 videos...The waitress and One good time. Hit em up like that...that way people can see the fun side of Tech and the more introspective side. Look at Em when he droped all his personal shit on the ears of america m/f rode his jock to millions...but he had to go past his Slim Shady stage 1st...thats what I think will get tech into home invasion mode lol

I think Tech needs to stop trying to do anybody but him. When everready came out niggas tried overanalyzing things deciding which song will the stupid mainstream people accept more blah blah blah blah and we got Everready because the mainstream only likes party. Fuck that, Tech drop w/e the fuck you want and don't base it on anyone elses success because what works for them might not work for you. We're so hesitant on thinking and predicting wtf others might not like. Fuck that. Tech's already trying to do things his own way with the no pay for play thing, why stop there? Give us a dope video for a strong song and it will catch on. If it's dope the hiphop heads will turn their heads in Techs direction and you'll get respect from them.People aren't completely retarded, they'll catch on eventually. And if it turns out to be a good video, When all of Tech's fans go into their promo mode of sending the video to everybody they know on emails, posting on their different forums, voting for it on w/e there is,

the non Tech fans who don't know about him won't automatically brush him off and might actually give him a chance.
