HERES SOME IDEAS OF WHY DAGO AINT BLOWING UP.. The reasons why this city I love may never make it happen. and you can repost them if you like. San Diego isn't that large of a Rap city. San Antonio and Phoenix are bigger cities. San Diego was never considered a music town. When the music use to sell well. San Diego was ranked 100th as far as the sales of music. San Diego was the only place that didn't sell out. San Diego is on the map. It's just for rock. There a lot of rock bands that come from here and sell a lot of music and are world known. Too much of the gang mentality. That why West Coast rap fell off. Its hard to do shows if you have people always trying to fight or shoot up the place. Then you have to deal with the police not wanting shows because of the gang shit that use to happen. If you are an active gangbanger you shouldn't be on the mic doin shows. You should be on the block doin ya thang. People forgot that you need to be a artist. People are all about bizzness and not about Business. Alot of people don't take the time to learn the business side of things. Sure they heard of soundscan but do they know how it works? Do they know what BDS is?
Do they know to get their music on iTunes? Making threats to a radio PD for not playing your music is very dumb. Asking Billy Blast to play your song is dumb as well. Just because you have wack PC and a cracked version of Fruity Loops Studio. You are not a producer. Just because you have Pro Tools doesn't mean you have a studio. People need to learn how to make a song. Learn song structure. Learn how many bars are in a verse, chorus, Cut down on the ad libs or use em right. People need to learn how to record, mix and master. All of you fools who talk about having money. Your songs show me that you are broke. Stop just making songs about: Money, Hoes, cars, guns & jail. Come up with something new and maybe people will respond to it since you would stand out.
Stop only making Mixtapes and learn to make good ALBUMS! The streets don't buy music. Most buyers of rap music are white kids and a lot of them are not buying rap music like they use to because it not moving them, most rappers are not real and they know it. So they are buying rock music again. That's just my opinion, whut do yall think?

WE NEED TO LINK UP AND HAVE A CONFRENCE. REAL CHOP YALL, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BULLSHIT GOING ON IN THIS CITY CONCERNING OUR VENUES TO BE A VIOLENCE FREE ZONE. MUCH MORE ALSO NEED TO BE DONE, BUT NOTHING WILL HAPPEN IF WE DONT COME TOGETHER. ME AND A FEW MORE OF MY PEERS HAVE BEEN EXCHANGING IDEAS. IF U HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR IDEAS..PLEASE LET ME KNOW....
HERES WHUT HALON THINKS..
I see where you’re gettin with this but hip hop aint makin it in daygo for a few more reasons. People can bang all day gangster rap aint dead by far "YET." although we should as a community start portraying a more positive image for our seeds. Shit I don’t wana show up to a venue and worry about gettin blasted, but if u put urself in that environment then u just feed to the outcome of the situation. Aint a meeting in the world can stop that kinda shit from happenin, beef is beef and the innocent suffer the consequences of that. Let me break down what I see in why hip hop aint goin nowhere:
a) No body supports one another,
when you go to a show any show in daygo u see dude about to go onstage all his peeps crowd around the stage givin props, as soon as he’s done bam all him and his peeps hit the door and bounce. If people stuck around 100% from 1st to last act, people would actually think we're doin shit and look at us a lil more seriously.
b) Shit iz fukin flooded with garbage
How many mufuckas u see out there been rappin a year to five "maybe." pushin half ass muzic in ur fukin face. when u feel bad for the kid spendin all his rent to get it pressed u break and spend ur 10 bucks on it. but when u get to the car it hits the pavement before you even get past track 2. no thought put into what they have to offer. then they flood every venue possible to get on stage. so when u get an artist actually talented enough to make it everybody got a headache from the 50 other whack ass kids who just got done screamin bout who the fuck knows what. I like what u said about people talking about shootin shit up and they got money an hoes. They just need to realize there’s more creative ways to say what your goin through. People put no creativity into their rhymes anymore.
c) People don’t take what the do seriously
People runnin around this city lookin like they got a deal through KINKOS. how’s a record exec gona take u as a serious artist if well u don’t LOOK serious. people sayin they do big thangs but u look at their shit and u wana toss it in the trash. they don’t take time to put in work. they say they don’t have a hook up or shits too expensive. dawg I learned all my shit on my own self taught, all my art work, production, management, fuckin everything. I didn’t know shit or have a hook up when I sat down to take it upon myself. people are just lazy. And the studio time, please, the studio I used to create my last album was done in my daughters room next to the crib. 600 dollar studio, tops, and I get props all day about that CD. I even got album reviews stating “This CD sounds as though it were engineered in a million dollar studio” (actual quote from Imperfekshun Magazine.)
d) everybody tryin to make it FIRST.
and I'm sayin this with regards to item a) not just by leavin a venue early and showin up late. we got thousands of people bangin on the doors to the industry. If we form one hand and bang on the same door for one artist, we may have a shot at gettin our foot in the door. The day of the demo is gone, so we gone with it. we need to find a way to draw attention to ourselves with out knockin the next one down. Were like a bunch of rats climbin to the top but no one wants to help push one rat to the cheese. Everybody concerned about gettin theirs first, fuckin it up for the rest. Think about it daygo if we unite as one fist, who the fuck could stop us.
Just a few of my thoughts, feel free to add to em’
Thanks for listening!
