no, shooting sideways isn't more accurate. why the fuck do you think professional shooters shoot straight up? why do you think that when some dumb motherfucker gets in a shootout with police he usually gets killed? after over a hundred years of people shooting handguns i'm sure they've found the best way to do it, and if sidewayz was the best way then we would train our police to do it that way.

The shell is suposed to come up and out to the right. I have fired some that just go up and straight back. All in all, it would so the shell wouldnt come back to touch you.

I have never side fired, mostly because its stupid.

In the movies and just hanging around.....why do they pose and in the movies hold a pistol sideways? I never understood that because if you really did that, you have a blazing hot case flying right into your face. Is is supposed to be cool or something...I really want to know.

only people who shouldn't own guns do that. they should really just shoot themselves cause they don't look cool, or hard, and they aren't gonna fuckin hit anything they're trying to aim at if they do in fact shoot...

Not defending it but don't think just cause someone is holding a gun sideways they can't shoot straight. Plenty of folks dead and gone off that shit. An accurate shooter will hit you with multiple techniques not just the average straight arm shot.

But yeah to answer the first poster's question probably the same reason people drive with one hand instead of two.
