Contrary to popular opinion Master P paid all of his artists in some way, form or fashion. He even paid Sons of Funk for the next cd even though he didn't like it and it never dropped. I was there, I heard the cd and saw him bread them out. We used to go to the old Shark Bar in LA and they would play any song we wanted them to. Master P signed a few of his wife's family members even though some of them had no real talent. He changed the name of No Limit Records to something else and Lil Romeo has become a cash cow for him through music, tv and movies.
sons of funk are tight. there only album drop from no limit was the shit. my wifey and i bump it all the time.

Also, its not like P didn't have love for the Bay, Even On MP Da Last Don He shouts out hella bay rappers including, Short, 40, JT, Dre Dog, Ea Ski, Spice 1, Bila, D-shot, suga t, Quinn, And a few more. I am sure he tried to sign bay area rappers to No Limit, either the offers were not that enticing or they were happy with the labels they were on.
