Cuz @ that time when WCBB1 came out No Limit Records wasn't as big! Many of Bay Area artists that were metioned already had been established with the record labels as well......

Lil Ric and Dangerous Dame both dropped No Limit albums before Master P blew up. Rumor was he tried to sign San Quinn but it never happened

Magic and Mac were actually my top 2 favorite artists on No Limit after Fiend.

But T-Rip said, he signed Steady Mobb'n, they dropped 2 albums with No Limit. And wasn't Big Ed from the Bay Area somewhere. Also, Lil Italy is from the Bay Area.

big ed (rip) is master p's cousin in law from richmond thru p's wife sonya-c and sons of fonk is from oakland. king george was also from the n.o. but pretty much raised in richmond so he from the bay mainly, just like p is even though he in denial and only moved back to the n.o. when he saw cashmoney blowin up from out there. lil italy is from funk mobb (sick wid it) and went under the name g-note while he was in that group and is from vallejo.

san quinn in an interview said that master p tried to sign him but he was loyal to jt the bigga figga and get low records at the time, even though around that time get low broke up anyway.

lil ric was on solo records and when he did deep n tha game, he was on solo / no limit records. master p tried to sign him all the way too but lil ric stayed wit solo records which didn't do to good except wicked streets and the grope 1.

good shit! i like master p, but for some reason i always found it hard to believe all those no limit artists were making money, it seemed like he just sighned anyone from new orleans that could form a rhyme, and then they'd dissapear after 1 or two albums. glad to see he's a fair business man

DAMN, that was when JT had the billboard on Sunset Blvd. in LA and the rest of the Get Low camp had a little ass ad in the back of a couple magazines

Contrary to popular opinion Master P paid all of his artists in some way, form or fashion. He even paid Sons of Funk for the next cd even though he didn't like it and it never dropped. I was there, I heard the cd and saw him bread them out. We used to go to the old Shark Bar in LA and they would play any song we wanted them to. Master P signed a few of his wife's family members even though some of them had no real talent. He changed the name of No Limit Records to something else and Lil Romeo has become a cash cow for him through music, tv and movies.
