You'll be stuck with 2 big Contracts, and have roughly 15-25 Millions to spend Next Year, while the Giants will have yet again 30-44 Million to spend, they could use their Farm. go after Vernon Wells who might command 15 Million, Michael Young, who could command 12-15 mil, I'm pretty sure, the Giants will sign a BIG NAME player, while the Dodgers ponder with the waste of money, it'll be like last year with Furcal and Lofton, believe that.
umm...we will have more than enough money in 08. it's not going to be a problem.

You forgot to mention that the Dodgers are stacked w/ talent in their farm-system, we don't need to go out and spend that money next year on V. Wells or Andrew Jones....Matt Kemp will be ready to go for $395,000, and he's only 21yrs old.

Roberts is a better leadoff hitter then Vizquel and Winn so ok in my book. Giants are one of the slowest teams year in year out speed helps.( I'm still wondering why we have the oldest team in MLB again?)

lol sounds like you're talking about juan pierre

EDIT: lol nvm i see stockton said the same thing
first let me say i think we overpaid for pierre.

but pierre compared to roberts is big difference in that roberts gets injured while pierre is a 162 game a year guy.

also pierre is a .300 average and 200 hits hitter

We'll see, hope the Giants' Prospects can shine.
what prospects???

just because they are #1 in the Giants prospects list doesnt mean they are MLB ready or even MLB caliber.

i doubt any1 in the Giants farm system could of cracked the Dodgers, Angels, and Diamondbacks top 10 lists last year

Well Actually, there are some in the Giants farm in the Top 100 Still. Matt Cain, Nate Schierholtz, Tim Lincecum.

the only other giants guy beside Matt Cain (#10) was Markus Sanders at #63.

there was no Lincicum and the other guy you mentioned on the last Baseball America Top 100 Prospects of 2006 List.

Lincicum should be on the 2007 version and i got no idea about the other guy though

appears on his way to being a good one. although Billingsly was considered to be a better prospect i would say cain is a little better than billingsly now
I've seen Billinglsy pitch, His has a good breaking ball, although his fastball only goes 92-93, his change-up isn't all that bad either.
