i couldnt imagine being grown and getting 7.50 an hour.
stick to jobs of the same type....like if youre a cashier at toys r rus..make your next job a banking job...then after the banking job maybe youll work for brinks delivering money...then at some point maybe youll be where you need to be financially because of your track record...you want to climb in your area of specific expertise...so make sure your next job follows your skills or have some relation to your last job, as it shows you have a set plan and you appear to be more valuable on the team. otherwise your need a college degree
and for those looking for a job.....dont seem too needy, and ask alot of questions about the job, and familiarize yourself with the business by goign to the website (all places have websites) and make sure you look around the interviewers office and note things. if you can make small talk to break ice by mentioning small things (you notice a toy collection), that might be the thing that makes the interviewer go "you know what he was kinda cool and i didnt feel awkward..lets call em back for the job"
ODB once went for a job at an airport, and during being interviewed he looked at the calender and noticed that the day was marked, and he said "so i see its your sons birthday today"..the boss was amazed by his attention to detail and not only hired him on the spot, but hired his friends too
remember they need you....you can go find any thousand or so jobs hiring....make sure theyre a good fit for you...not the other way around.
and if you dont want to go to the interview call them up and tell them you arent coming...dont have them calling you off the hook at the time of the interview and u aint pickin up the phone...be professional enough to say you dont think youre a good match for the position and dont burn bridges
