Most of your questions deal with selling out to your race. The way I see it is for me race has nothing to do with it. My race never gave anything to me, why should I give anything to my race. I consider myself part of the human race. Now I grew up in a mostly white community and I'm not white, but if I turned my back on my town and the people I grew up with and the people that helped me get to where I am, I would consider myself a sellout.

A sellout is someone who isn't themselves and act the way they believe the society and their friends expect them to because they are afraid that they will be considered sellouts.....

Chew on that.

Smokie didn't stress anything related to the KKK. He asked a question and gave a few possible answers (in the form of more questions). There is no need to attack him with some KKK accusations, because the black panthers would be "stressing" the same shit. These are the only "statements" he made:

"THESE ARE SOME ?'S THAT ARE INTERESTING TO ME.I HAVE MET ALOT OF PEOPLE IN MY LIFE AND HAVE LEARNED NOT TO MAKE SNAP JUDGMENTS ON PEOPLE.FOR WHAT EVER REASON.EVERYONE GETS A FAIR SHAKE EXCEPT FOR MY RIVALS."

Everything else was a question.

I agree with 559_Soldado. The first of which Percy Miller comes to mind, and the latter is something that Beyonce has been accused of. Didn't she publicly say that she wasn't black or some shit? Taking pride in your ethnicity is not to be confused with taking your pride so far as to think your background is superior to others. It is simply embracing the roots of your ancestry, because lets face it, none of us are living in our homeland. In a general sense, I think a sellout is someone who changes who they are (and forgets about it) in order to reach another level of self-gratification.

I completely agree. Race really has nothing to do with you except for your genetic makeup. I also believe that if a person wishes to express him/herself outside of their cultural boundaries and expectations, then that person would not be considered a sellout.

To me, a sellout is a person who is a victim of their surrounding environment. Always adapting to benefit their acceptance to what is considered normal and always looking for a way to benefit out of the people surrounding them. It takes real guts to stand on your own two feet and face the wind rather than let the gust knock your ass down!

I think tribalist or anti-culturist would be a more descriptive term than racist.

If you look at it this way, there are 6 basic races, but hundreds of cultures and nationalities. People that do hate on others based on basic skin color and features, then there are most people that hate on a certain way of life with or without the added racial features. I consider most people anti-culturist since it is the culture and way of life that is hated upon more than the race.

For example, a latino and a native american are the same race, but they both posess a lot of different cultures and sub cultures! Same with a black person from New York/East Side and a black person from LA/West Side, they both have the same main culture but both are from different sub-cultures.

Damm sounds like Nitro the Guru and MC_PM$ are inteligent deep thinkers. I like what you both said. I always thought Aresino Hall was a sell out. Because he acted white when he interviewed a white guest and black for a black guest. I talk with the same slang and have the same views whoever Im speaking to it doesnt varry to please who Im speaking with. Being real is something that should be standard in friendships but with the way people are now a days I view it as a valuable and rare when it should just be the way it is.

so...in my attepmt to understand what you mean by these questions...a sellout i someone that better themself? goes to school to make money...and when they do get that money...move out of the hood for better surrounding. or a sell is sell out a person who holds a crack dealer on the street on the same level as one's family?

im all for bettering youself...in my view...a sellout is some who excepts stereotypes as truth and live an existance of hating people who do for themselves....there is a lot of those people runnin around. i see it everyday as i drive down the street on my way to the campus.

and i am not "attacking" anyone...though i do feel that these questions are some what "questionable"

so basically...you "keep it real" during job interviews and business meetings? slang is good to speak amoung peers...other than that...you gotta be able to speak to the white folks. being multilingual is a good thing. speaking like you have some intelligence and manners is part of that.
