You know what shit also doesn't "work like"? Taking a rapper that has sold millions, or hundreds of thousands, of records, and comparing them to the silly ass exchanges in this thread.

"Hello, I'm new to the board." "Hello, nice to meet you." "Would you like to be on one of my songs?" "Yes, let me download the instrumental and send it right over!"

Rappers who sell tens of thousands of records care about publishing, care about masters, and care about ownership. They also care about not just e-mailing someone they just met a verse, not knowing if they're going to fuck up the mix, jack their lyrics, or do who knows what else.

If you're getting verses from unknown rappers in Sacramento, or anywhere outside your immediate area, while only meeting them online....you've got some serious fuckin issues that extend well beyond travel restrictions.

But hey, yeah, go back to work. Make songs. But don't talk about Business, because Business isn't happening in this thread. A Hobby is happening in this thread.

That's your outlook on it I guess. I think you fail to realize that music is music. We're all on here just trying to make music with other people who have the same interest. This is a hobby and also a talent. I don't have the access to a major recording studio yet or to drive a thousand miles to record with someone, so me networking and meeting new artists to collab with is a real practical thing to do.

My bad for not having that track up yet, I've been away from my home computer. It'll be up tonight and whoever wants to spit on it can.

people fly verses thru email... its the new way of doing things. Especially if people got projects goin on or they busy.

People kan import verses into the programs and set it up.

This IS PRETTY MUCH STANDARD NOW.

But if you dont believe, me, ask any of the artists that post on here. Katz hit up each on myspace, but also forums like this to do something.

Some homies kant go to other areas, but I'll give you an example.

Kenny Mack sent a track to redrum 781, and he added his verse to the song, but also sent his vokals only.

A Wax never met redrum 781, but redrum sent him the piru love beat and A Wax sent his vokals/adlibs back to him.

Young Sau and Redrum 781' Day 1.. was done thru email.

Mitchy Slick's Wont stop being a Blood with young hootie, jay rock, 211, 1/2 Ounce, big wy, redrum 781, Young Meek, Bigg Tupp, and a bunch of other katz was done thru email.

Its pretty ignorant to think you have to be in the same town to do something with someone. Maybe back in the 90's.. but nowadays, people kan send each other shit over the net, email, yahoo messanger...

but like you mentioned, trust is a huge issue... and I'm pretty sure there are katz that take other's ideas.

You also have to take into consideration that alot of katz are upfront wid shit too. Most katz work with others that they know to be reputable. If dude is real, he'll do his part and no shady shit happens. But lot of katz hit up each other to see if they wanna do something.

Its how people are networking. Whether its for hobby or for business... katz are working together... whats wrong with that?

its sad to hear katz like him puttin down people tryna make muzik. he failed to see that people chek out each other's muzik on myspace or whereever.. but for the most part, making that konnektion and tryna do muzik.. why would he care about some katz wanting to do shit.

I hope everyone make some good shit and post that shit on here.

If I'm being snippy....everything is wrong with that. If I'm being more relaxed.... many things are wrong with that. And I have already explained why.

We are having serious problems with follow-through in the NorthWest. Artists meeting online and emailing verses back and forth, not even attempting to arrange a meeting in person, only exacerbates the problem.

When you speak of known names, these aren't the people I'm talking about. If you have middlemen or managers or associates arranging verse swaps, willing to cosign that their artist isn't going to be a fuck-up and recycle the verse for compilations, or sell it to someone else, etc...completely different situation than exists in threads like these.

Hurling out insults at this point in time is completely unnecessary. Why? Because I'd mash on every single person in this thread by whatever means necessary. The counter-position is untenable. To wit: if you take yourself seriously as an artist, then it's idiotic to email verses to other artists you just met online for the sole purpose of making "good music". That's about as moronic as dating someone you met on Craigslist, and fucking them on the first night without a rubber.

Again....these artists are exacerbating a serious problem, and people like you are condoning it. Maybe you have alternative motives (you steal beats, or steal lyrics, etc.).....maybe you just believe what you believe, and it's a "street thing" (online), and I'm "just a square" or whatever else you can come up with. Either way. I'm the 700lb gorilla these days, I packed on another 100. So if its an intellectual/business knowledge battle you're looking for, we can go for 20 pages. If not, let me know now, so I can pick up my W and leave it alone.

What is the problem with that? Bekuz katz cant meet up? Bekuz its thru email? This is just a step.. sooner or later homies are gonna do what they need to do to make it more formal. Alot of katz never meet, but always talk on the phone.

Not everyone has a manager or a middleman. Alot of people do shit on their own. People do their own research as far as chekin out the music or even seeing if they got homies in that town... but for the most part, shit is mutual.

I'm pretty sure there are sheisty people out there, but i havent encountered any, but i'm sure there are katz that steal beats or lyrics. And this is where trust comes in to play... and EVERYONE TAKES THAT RISK. It only takes one time for an artists to ruin his name... and that will travel very far.

Hurling out insults at this point in time is completely unnecessary. Why? Because I'd mash on every single person in this thread by whatever means necessary. The counter-position is untenable. I didnt insult you.
you wanna insult people bekuz they are email each other verses? i just dont understand why you even hating like that? no reason too, doesnt effect you. Some people are lazy and some people dont have the motivation to take it further... oh well, none of you biz. Regardless of names, people do make good muzik sending verses thru email. Wanna argue that point? I posted songs of artists that never met each other and did a song. But if you still think it idiotic, hit up the sac forum and so cal forum and ask how many people do shit online.. meeting people and doing something. Believe it or not, before i met up with redrum 781, mally mall, young sau, Big june, Kenny mack, they've sent me songs for their up coming projekt incomplete, they sent me beats they paid for, to see if people wanted to jump on them.

Why they trust me? i'm a fan. but they did their cheks and trusted me enough not to leak shit.. and i've proven myself. if i did leak shit.. guess who would be gettin hit up in those towns or brought up in discussions?
So for most artists, their credibility and work ethic is very important.

Still dont get it? go to the 91siccness subforum and hit up mgang916. That's mally mall and ask him about him sending verses to Clinton wayne in So cal. or Snapp Ford in Florida.

I dont condone steal shit, but i do agree that if people want to do something together, its up to them to set it up, thru email or myspace or in person.

But I'm a nobody to condone shit, i just seen it work.. and that is my argument wid you.

my motives? i wanna hear good muzik by dope artists. My alt. motives? I guess when i go to meet up with katz, i get respect.

But you kan hit up my homies and ask them yourself:

many of them post on here in the other forums.. especially the SD homies. Ask the question of people throwing verses thru email...

Bekuz "its a street thing" and you're a "square"... naw, it saves time and money... yes studio time costs money and not everybody has access to it.
People are busy, with jobs, family, hustling, tours..
and yes, even distance is an issue.
plus its 2009..

Coopdvill, yes one of the owners of siccness, does shit thru email too.
http://www.myspace.com/coopdvill

chek that song "All Flame" with redrum 781, Jim West, Baby Bandit and Doitmovin. redrum dont know Baby Bandit or Doitmovin. plus he in LA and Baby Bandit in SD and Doitmovin in Sac.

or whatever else you can come up with. Either way. I'm the 700lb gorilla these days, I packed on another 100.
i aint said shit bout you, so what the fuk are you talking about?

So if its an intellectual/business knowledge battle you're looking for, we can go for 20 pages. If not, let me know now, so I can pick up my W and leave it alone.
Its funny you said intellecutal/business battle. You're giving all these excuses for people NOT to do shit thru email/online.
WHEN INFACT IT HAPPENS... WITH UNDERGROUND AND MAINSTREAM ARTISTS.

Only "W" i see here is whining. But i guess that goes with being closed minded about music.

Remember hit up those people i left myspace links to... AND IF YOU TOO LAZY TO DO THAT.. HIT UP THESE PEOPLE ON HERE.. the siccness:

COOPDVILL
Supa SAV'D OUTT
gas one
DANKCITYGMACNIF
dashamman
SamoanDagorilla
mgang916
nonfiCKtion
SBdaFordBloksta

aks them about how serious artists are bekuz they do shit thru email. They do it all the time.

Alright I'll have a few more tracks up for people to get on soon. Here is a song called "Mr. Madman" that I'm looking for some verses on. I've already got a version with another rapper, but I also want some alternate versions of the song as well.

If you can, try and stay on topic and have a "Madman" theme.

Hook:

It be like knock knock who is it, Mr Madman
Better get cho shit together
Gotta go right now gotta leave
Gotta get that cash man
Gotta get to a place where I can't be seen
Still it seems so hard to get there tho
But it's like this can you tell me Mr Madman
Have you any thoughts of how I should be better
In this daily life I live
If not then I guess I'll leave and I'll still be
Where I am right now until it kills me
Until your gone I see no end, Mr Madman

Madison Kaine - Mr. Madman _Hooks_.mp3 - 4.58MB

I really like how my hook turned out so I'm hoping some skilled emcee's can spit a few verses. Is anybody down?

Dirty Shoez
I'm not hating on you man, you're obviously well spoken and have a head on your shoulders, but make no mistake about what I'm trying to do. I'm enrolled full time at The Los Angeles Recording School on Sunset Boulevard, that's a top of the line school and I'm trying real hard to make things work. I'm not some wannabe pretend emcee who raps online so think twice before judging. Maybe we should collab and you can show us what you've got, I'd be more than willing to make a song with you.

Me and Dubb G have a real nice track in progress. "Mr. Madman" will be ill and when it's finished I'll post it up.

Greg Double G

Here is another track that I really want you to get on. The 3rd verse is open for you to do your thing and lay your vocals down. I think we mesh really well and our styles would go together good on this track.

It's called "Yeah I Guess" and it's also a song I want to have a different version of.
