^but that's what I like about it, I can edit wavs and loop things without much strain on my computer like I would if I opened pro tools. plus I can chop samples there and import the aiffs to ableton or reason

Well yeah, it's cool enough for editing. But if you want to get a bit more indepth, FX, anaylizing and what not, then it ain't that deep of a program for that.

Its Rap music how deep do you need to go?
Like I said, FX, plugin support, anaylizing tools and what not. Even if you don't use all the $hit that Audition or Sound Forge has, you know it's still there if you ever need it. I also like the visual feedback better on Audition/Sound Forge, they look nicer IMO, therefore creates an easier environment to work with I think.

Audacity is cool, but I think it's a no brainer that programs like Audition/SoundForge are of better quality.

Kind of like how you think analog hardware synths are better than software analog synths or like how a software clone of a hardware synth would never be as good as the original hardware synth. Same shit, I think, Audition/Sound Forge are better than Audacity. It's not just about having deeper features, the programs like Audition/SoundForge are just better, look better, everything. Audacity is still cool though, I ain't gonna hate it, I have it.
