Since Floyd is doing a bit of time in county jail (hopefully no more than 30 days), Pac is going to fight in June and he & bob arum say they want Mayweather in November/December assuming he wins. Options are slim but there are a couple interesting fights out there.

Timothy Bradley
Record: 28-0
Recognized as the best 140 pound fighter.
Best fights: (Devon Alexander, Lamont Peterson, Kendall Holt, Junior Witter, Luis Carlos Abregu).
Pluses: 28 years old, in his prime, talented fighter, good resume.
Weaknesses: doesn't pack a whole lot of power in his punches.

Lamont Peterson
Record: 30-1
Coming off career best win over Amir Khan
Best fights: Amir Khan, Victor Cayo, Victor Ortiz (draw).
Pluses: 27 years old, in his prime, talented boxer that has shown versatility (can box or use pressure).
Weaknesses: Lost to Timothy Bradley, has been knocked down several times (twice against Ortiz, once against Bradley).

Juan Manuel Marquez
Record: 53-6
Coming off highly controversial 3rd fight with Pacquiao, many believe he won.
Best fights: Pacquiao (0-1-2), Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Diaz, Michael Katsidis, Joel Casamayor, Chris John (controversial loss).
Pluses: Has fought pacquiao better than anyone has and knows his style like no other, superb counter puncher, Mexican legend.
Weaknesses: Has already fought Pacquiao 3 times, is 38 years old.

Miguel Cotto
Record: 37-2
Coming off big PPV fight and fantastic performance against Antonio Margarito.
Best fights: Shane Mosley, Margarito, Zab Judah, Carlos Quintana, Malignaggi, Ricardo Torres, Foreman, Clottey, Mayorga.
Pluses: Has phenomenal resume, extremely good left hook & body puncher, willingness to fight anyone, very popular.
Weaknesses: Has already lost to Pacquiao, while only 31 years old could be at the tail end of his career, bleeds often.

Victor Ortiz/Andre Berto have a fight scheduled in Feb, it's unlikely the winner would be available in June, however it's even more unlikely that Bob Arum does business with Golden Boy for a Pacquiao fight should Ortiz win again. If Berto wins however it could be an option as Loue DiBella would have a better chance working with Top Rank.

gotta eat your veggies son

MANILA, Philippines – Vegetable products being sold under Manny Pacquiao’s name are now available in several restaurants in the US.

Pacquiao, a much sought-after product endorser, earlier signed a deal with State Street Produce, according to Philboxing.com.

State Street Produce will be rolling out the “Pacquiao Produce,” which are vegetables carrying the boxer’s name.

The product will be marketed under the theme “Pacquiao Produce- Feeding our Future Champions.”

The products will be also available in retail and grocery stores in the US soon.

Pacquiao, whose charismatic image attracted mainstream appeal, also endorses various products from big companies like NIKE, Hewlett Packard and Smart Communications.

He needs to fight Bob Arum so he can get out of his contract with Top Rank. Other then that Tim Bradley has an asswhipping waiting on Manny if he takes the fight. But all roads leads to Mayweather for Manny and he can't duck Money for much longer.

More proof that Manny is ducking Mayweather. Manny made Arum make the ODLH fight but Manny don't want it with Floyd.

"When the De La Hoya fight became possible, I had a big meeting -- I'll never forget it -- with Pacquiao in the suite at the Mandalay [Bay]," said Arum. "And I said: 'Manny, do you know what you're doing here? De La Hoya's so much bigger, so much stronger, you're liable to get hurt. There's a lot easier guys to fight. I'm telling you all of this because I want you to realize that maybe you shouldn't fight him.' And he got angry, and he said, 'I want to fight De La Hoya. I know I can beat him.' He looked at me with those steely eyes, and he really was sincere. It wasn't a question of the money or anything else. That's when I knew we had a helluva shot, and Freddie [Roach], who had trained Oscar, told us that Manny was going to beat Oscar. So we knew it internally, although Bruce [Trampler, Top Rank's Hall of Fame matchmaker], who knows fights, was leaning toward De La Hoya."

Let's talk about Manny ducking Mayweather, I thought it was Arum fault that the fight is not getting made?? Well I guess Manny doesn't want to fight Mayweather because he is not demanding it.

To be fair it's not like Floyd is straight chasing Manny.
All he did was book a venue date for May 5th. We haven't really seen any formal move towards the match being with Manny.

It's still a matter of both of them being liable for the fight not happening. Manny does need to be a bit more assertive though.

Pacquiao Ready: I Will Tell Arum I Want Mayweather Next!

By Edward Chaykovsky

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is set to have a meeting with his promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, and adviser Michael Koncz, in the next few days in the Philippines. Arum will present a list with four potential opponents for Pacquiao's next fight, including Miguel Cotto, Lamont Peterson, Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Pacquiao told reporter Eddie Alinea of philboxing.com that he plans to request a mega-fight with WBC champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and he also plans to direct Arum to give Mayweather a higher preference above the four listed opponents.

Mayeather is scheduled to fight on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“I‘ve said this over and over before and I’m saying this again, I want Floyd Mayweather Jr. to be my next opponent and I haven’t changed my choice despite recent developments,” Pacquiao told the site.

“I am meeting with my promoter, Bob Arum on Tuesday and I will insist that the fight with Mayweather be given the preference than the four others in the list I will fight next. It’s not really fair for some quarters to blame me if, in the long run, the fight wouldn’t push through.

“When Arum sits in the negotiation table, he will be laying on the table all the conditions we want, which , everybody knew already are simple. That I will abide by his demand for drug testing. I am even agreeable to get lesser purse just so the fight would push through. In other words, as far as my side is concerned, there will be no problem.”

“We know, too, that Mayweather has no promoter. He negotiates by himself. So if the fight won’t be realized, it’s no longer because of me."
