wut's the point of having a game dog? none of you will ever use the dog for it's original purpose. all you guys do with them is show, and frankly i prefer an AB's look bcuz of the size difference. they're also at the top of wut they call the "Working Class" of dogs. so unless your dog is a fighting machine and wins you sum feds in battle (which is illegal), then all that game talk is BS. there are dogs that are more loyal (indefinately), there are dogs that are more protective, more agile, faster, stronger, smarter, easier to keep, etc.... my point is you can love the pit all you want, but to say sum shit like "no other breeds can hold a candle to the pitbull" is nothing but an opinion, and not a well though out one at that. jocking is the main word when it comes to pitbulls. like i said earlier, TV and music glorified the breed and now there's all these bandwagon people (especially youngster) who think the pit is the best dog in the world. LOL! like i said, i love pits too but sum people just dont know....

Stafforshire Terriers are not PIT BULLS!!! Pit bulls WERE game bred dogs, stafforshires are not. There are too many amatuers breeding pits now, they'll never be what they used to be... Pits are supposed to be tested for DEEP gameness, not too many people do that nowadays, they say its creul. But for anybody who has owned a REAL American pit bull terrier, u know what I mean when I say they love to fight.

ADBA kept pits GAME.... AKC is where people who didn't want "GAME" bred dogs, and turned the breed into Straffordshire Terriors. They're still PIT...just not GAME anymore. But they both came from GAME lines. My red nose boy doesn't like to fight. But, like any pit that doesn't want to fight, he may NOT start a fight, but he WILL end it. Believe me, he's showed me his GAME side more than once.

You said, "tested for DEEP gameness"

Testing is too much trouble. You better have someone that can stitch him up. That's where cruelty comes in, in my book. I would never fight a dog I owned. There's only one game that means shit...HE HAS TO DIE FOR IT.... And that's "DEAD GAME"... I will never be able to understand an owner on that level.

Karloz u are right bout that, the AKC changed the name to "Stafforshire Terrier" in 1972 when it decided to recognize them as a breed snd until that time the two were physically pretty much alike. ADBA never really tested for gameness either, they specialize more in weight pulling and physical conformation. What I meant was, In my eyes there not the same, though no one in this forum probably gives a shit what I say. I was primarily refering to bacc in the day of the legendary Jack Dempsy, (in the early 20th century) when Irish people were immigrating to the US and bringing their "pit bulldogs" with them. I heve an unquenchable thirst for information when it comes to the pitbull, and I certainly didn't want to give the impression that I fight any of my dogs, because I don't. But I have a male who is extremly igenuitive when it comes to finding ways to get at my other male pit, and I truly believe that he enjoys scrappin'. I'm a small girl, I'm 5'7 and I weigh about 125 and I've had to break up their fight before by myself, putting myself in harms way so that they don't fucc each other up. None of my dogs have ever spent a night outside in their life, and they're spoiled to boot...I've been around these kind of dogs since I was 8 years old and I'll never own any other breed. My other male pit, Apocolypse saved my life when our house caught on fire. I've got nothing but good shit to say bout the breed, subject just gets me heated sometimes...

Bacc in the day true fanciers of the breed never set up matches for profit, but to determine which dogs were (or were not) worthy enough to be bred. Nowadays this isn't the case, and people who fight their dogs don't give a shit bout them. I was talking "gameness" strictly on a historical level, the search for gameness in these dogs is what got us the breed we have today. Any modern day dogs that have pedigrees tracing bacc to Wallace, Boudreaux, Colby, Heinzl, Bullyson, etc, these were all game tested in the beginning

Yeah, I love pits too. A little too energetic at times, but they're very loyal. Naw, I didn't think you fought your dogs...and yes, you must have a very hard time breaking up those unwanted fights. I wrote that reply while I was pretty wasted last night... I'm surprised it actually made a little sense! But yeah, it's all love and I didn't mean any disrespect. Peace.

My pure bred German Shepherd is a fucking sav. So fucking intelligent, and so fucking loyal. Motherfuckers huge weights in at 130lbs and he isn't fat at ALL. Best dog i've ever had. Never EVER growled at me, bit me or anything of that sort. I can snatch the food from right under him when hes eating, and he'll just mug me. He's very protective tho. BEST DOG YOU CAN GET.

when i wuz a youngster, we had a Japanese Akita.... she weight around 180 pounds. i used to ride that dog like it wuz a horse. they get viscious as fuck, but not towards their owners. she didnt allow ANYONE in the yard unless they were with her owners. that dog wuz by far the best guard dog i've ever seen. the only thing a pit has on it is lockjaw, which is not good at times. i think our old Akita would spank either of my current dogs in a battle. an Akita is like a mix between German Shepards, Pit Bulls, and Dobermans. they have the size and intelligence of a German Shepard (actually they're bigger, of course), the strength and aggressiveness of a pit, and the natural protective instinct of a Doberman. great dogs. they dont have that look that makes people say "WHOA," but if they were to see them in action they'd be saying more than WHOA.
