Could some one explain one thing for a foreigner. Yes, I know, this is a result of having only two major parties, but why is it impossible to have more than two actual cadidates for president? Pretty sure that those two don't represent the values of all the americans. Is it because people know the harsh reality that the others can't win or are they just sheep?

How much votes did the other ones get over all?

^^^ I think this is in large part that they are Republican and Democrat and if you arent in either then you really dont have a chance. Only one person can be in a race for prez in Democrat or Republican. This is actuallity not always a good thing since a good chunk of people voted Nadar in both this and the 2004 election. Widely people only think of Democrat or Republican as a choice they dont look further into another canidates beliefs and ideas. This is what i see i may be wrong though.

Bush - 59,150,654
Kerry - 55,592,568
Nader - 396,287

Total population of Amerika - 293,027,571 (July 2004 est.)

It should be noted that all major U.S cities voted Kerry. Most of the rural areas voted Bush (uneducated, extremely religious etc.)

Pretty sure that those two don't represent the values of all the americans. Is it because people know the harsh reality that the others can't win or are they just sheep?
Yes, for the most part, amerikans are sheep controlled by the media. And you're right; neither bush or kerry represent the values of amerikans.

I don't wanna sound apocalyptic, but I've been thinkin for a long time about what's the future of your country. I wouldn't wonder if we'd see somekind of uprising of the working class when times get more ruff. Let's say in the next 10-15 years. The illusion of your countrys well-being can't last for ever. Aren't there notably extremist left/rightwing moments in your country?

Sad to see people in power who only care about success of the rich, corporate values etc. Well, this is just the way I've been seen it an outsider. I've never been to the states, but maybe one day I'll come to check out what's the only super power in the world all about

Yes, there have been plenty of extremist moments in our country. Remember, in the 60's and 70's the leftists groups were widespread across america. The civil rights movement, the Black Panthers Party, Malcolm X, women's right's movement, workers movement etc. which really threatened the rulling class. Before that there were literally over 70,000 worker strikes across america between 1920-1940.

Hopefully, now since Bush was reelected, the leftists groups will once again unite and continue to fight against the war, for workers rights, environment etc.

Great to see someone thinking clearly.
Except for the leadership of the country part. The President doesn't run anything but his mouth and nose. The president is no more than a spokesperson.

NOT ONE PERSON HAS *EVER* GIVEN ME A "LOGICAL" REASON TO VOTE. THE DAY SOMEONE CAN ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTION/RUN ON SENTENCE IS THE DAY I'LL VOTE:

DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE RICH/ELITE FAMILIES OF INTERNATIONAL BANKERS WILL ALLOW "COMMON PEOPLE" TO DECIDE THE FATE AND LEADERSHIP OF THE RICHEST AND MOST ADVANCED COUNTRY ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH BY PUNCHING A HOLE IN A PIECE OF CARDBOARD?

YOU IDIOTS ACT LIKE SOMEONE WHO IS CHECKING TO MAKE SURE SOMEONE IS NOT COMMITTING VOTER FRAUD IS WORSE THAN SOMEONE ACTUALLY TAMPERING WITH THE VOTING PROCESS. COULD IT BE THAT THE CRIMINAL MIND IS MORE LIKELY TO VOTE LIBERAL?

VOTER INTIMIDATION? THATS SOME LAUGHABLE SHIT IF I EVER HEARD IT IN MY LIFE.
