It turns out a few decades ago white people were adopted by Natives and those white people fucked other white people and I was born. Through generations people forgot this fact that my grandparent who died when my dad was a baby didn't actually native blood himself. I have a tribal registration card too lol

Do you feel a responsibility to give back to the tribe? Why or why not, if you don't mind me asking. One of my boys is Pueblo and they have a strong sense of community and giving.

I've never really lived around the tribe I'm registered to. I'm a registered black foot and was raised by black feet, but they moved and I grew up around Sioux in South Dakota and for a short time Navajo in Arizona. My daughter and her mom are Sioux and my daughter's mom always wants to go back to the rez she grew up on in Eagle Butte in South Dakota and help out there. I'm mostly about trying to get my own shit together and better my life first.

I was on and off the rez in Pine Ridge, SD and Eagle Butte, SD growing up, but haven't been back to either since I was 19. I wouldn't even know how to give back or how to help honestly. I don't really even identify either as my "home town" or "where I'm from". I mostly say Las Vegas when people ask where I'm from cause that was the only place I lived growing up that I didn't hate, even though I lived equally in Las Vegas and South Dakota, just moved back and forth constantly with a couple short stays in Alabama and AZ.
