HOw many people have actually heard of fat tone though? Outside of the KC rap scene, not too many people I'm guessin'.
Fat Tone is a KC legend simple and plain. 10, 15, 20 years from now people probably wont really remember him. There for, no legend. PAC, B.I.G., Eazy-E... real legends. They will be remembered and repected by alot of people for a long time to come. NOthing against Tone, (rip), but he wasn't that big or that popular to call him a legend.
Maybe I'm wrong here, but I'm a huge hip-hop/rap fan and I've barely heard any Fat Tone. Without Tech or a few other KC rappers, I probably wouldn't know of him at all. So to call him a legend is at the least an outrageous comment. I don't want to come off as someone who thinks he's "all knowing" in the "rap world", but come on guys... a legend? Let's be real here. That word is thrown around too much in this industry and very few should be able to claim it. Don't even get me started with "the best rapper alive" bs.

Who gives a fuck? This thread has deviated so far away from topic that it's now a "What's considered a legend? And if you say someone's a legend we're gonna battle" pissing match.

I'm sure Killa Tay inspired MANY MANY Bay area rap artist, not to mention, didn't Killa Tay put on Fat Tone? Just because Tay has remained underground most of his career doesn't mean he aint a fuckin legend, what about Tech? For a group of fans that worship an UNDERGROUND rapper, how you gonna try and put the man down. WHO do you fags consider legendary then?
You can be the best rapper ever, and if nobody knows about it, you're not a legend in anything.

And hey Nate, if you're so tight with Tay and Tech, why didn't he just call you to get Tech's #??

Because "real" classics arent being produced... with the over saturation of bull shit raps now a days, its hard to reach the old expectations of "classic" so people are more apt to use the term, not to mention the un educated younger generation dont quite undersatnd the full meaning.
