what kind of tard uses a meat thermometer when grilling? It's all about the risk factor. Flavor crystals that sit on the grill for weeks, dip that shit and flip it in the marinade you've been using. Potato salad out in the sun. Fuck salmonella this aint for weaklings, chalk it up to the BBQ game.

OH yeah, and outdoor baking is not the same as BBQ. If you aren't using charcoal (preferably hardwood) you aren't BBQing. So fuck you if you use gas.

Indirect cooking on a charcoal grill is the only way to make chicken. Burn my steak on the outside raw on the inside please.
