Radio songs have always been about feelin good and partying. Even back in the day. Take, for example, 4-Tay's Playas Club. That was feel good music. It was more musical, had a little more depth to it, but it was popular for the same reasons the new readio shit is popular. The problem to me is that what's a popular radio song nowadays is fuckin garbage 99% of the time, not that it's on the radio in itself. And I don't know about the mob shit having less appeal than hyphy shit because "everybody ain't a gangsta"... A lot of what E-40, 4-Tay, etc. would kick back then wasn't really gangstarism, but it was still that mob music... It's just about being more musical with yo shit and really sayin something...
