Yes its good to shine and get publicity. But when your whole goal is to get radio play so you start dumbing down your music and making pop trash like whats going on with the bay and most of the industry you get garbage music. Why do you think everything on the radio is trash and sounds like a megamix of CLUB THIS CLUB THAT CLUB CLUB CLUB CLUB.

Even Keisha cole has to mention club in her song about getting accused of cheating. Why? You cant make a song without that fucking word anymore. I hate it. If you listen to the throwback noon mix and hear the music that was out in the early and mid 90's from all regions its real music to the ears, better beats, better lyrics, better topics. Party cuts got people hype because the shit got exposure not because it was formulated. Aint no playa by rappin 4tay got the dance floor packed now some young idiot will look at you like "why you playin slow jams nigga put on something i can go dumb to" . I'm dissapointed how all yall are so desperate to get nationwide exposure so the music has become trash just like southern crunk music which is trash to me. Strait TRASH. The bay is on some trash shit. No raw beats 100% club garbage. So sad.

They aint trying to make good music though, they are trying to get on the radio. Thats my point, too short rapping to corny crunk beats? This is what it takes to get on the radio now days? People aint wack because they are on the radio they are wack because they choose to be wack to make it on the radio. I highly doubt any bay artist you hear on the radio is getting publishing checks because of it. Its only those big named artist on majors. Bay artists are getting NO major rotation in other parts of the country other than Keisha Cole and she barely went gold

So your saying cuz you dont like it then its garbage music? What about the people who do like that music? Is your opinion to be takin as fact or is the people who likes that music to be takin as fact?Im happy bay is gettin play on the radio.i dont care what style of rap it is just having bay artists on the radio is a good thing and it gives new cats something to work towards. As an artist limiting the style of rap music I make limits my audience and oppurtunitys.Your opinion of whats trash can be debated by platnium plaques and nationwide fans.Nobodys forcing you to listen to the music you aint feelin....

I'm just one person but its garbage to everybody I know. I had some folks out here from back east and they couldnt stop laughing at how wack the shit they heard on the radio was. You think our reactions are rare? If they werent we'd be getting nationwide shine right now no excuses. The day some hifey shit goes platinum is the day Hell Turns Into Hawaii. Actually I am forced to listen to trash, the radio and TV shoves it down my throat. Turn off the radio ? Turn off the TV? Sometimes I have no choice.

Yah I feel you, when one cats does it the whole bay does it..as far as our "Bay Sound" go's.I think some fans are to critical though and do more complaining than enjoying.being independant gets quick money but being signed to a major gets you looked at and seems to set an artist up for more longterm money when comparing how we do in the bay to how they do in the east coast. All kinds of factors when it comes to whats heard thru the outlets we do have here in the bay.

95% of the cats you here rapping would love to be on the radio, mtv, bet ect. if they say they dont theyd be lying, thats what its about or else theyd be recording songs and keepin them for themselves to hear in the comforts of theyre own home, Radio isnt about the music, its about the advertising dollars spent, thats why u hear the same song 20 times in an hour cus they are the hottest thing on the chart, thats why its hard to get an underground artist in rotation because its a risk having a listenter change the radio for not liking them and not listening to the commercials on that station. So yes if you want to be on the radio you have to cater to the popular style, so i guess my take on all this is, " if u cats really wanna be more than neighborhood celebs, do some radio songs". just my take whether u listen or not.....

Thats why radio is garbage and anybody nowdays who forumulates their music for radio play is a wack hoe with a slave mentality. I swear some niggas dont remember the pre clear channel days everybody got a chance to shine. Crackas have ruined hiphop.

sometimes you have to go on that wack side just to get heard...

everybody always talkin about they miss the "mob music" but when new artists like Un Just and my squad, Loose Cannons, does it...no one listens

sometimes we gotta follow the hyphy formula just to get heard, im not saying i agree that its weak but i dont like how everything is the same thing...

everyone did scrapers...
everyone is thizzin now...
everyone is using metros and chirpers...
everyone is NOT a gangsta so "mob music" should be our niche in the Bay, not this hyphy shit

And i really cant see myself doing any other music knowing that i come from richmond where nuthin is happening but "mob" shit not to disrespect any other city but niggas dont really be on that hyphy shit out here...

anyways look out for the Loose Cannons if you really wanna listen to the "mob music"

and while you're at tell your chicks to listen to "All Grown Up"

lol keyshia cole talking about a club in her song.. has nothing to do with radio play lololol
she was tellin a story about being cheated on.. where is the most popular spot that niggaz get caught cheating by their females friends??
that point made me laff...

but anyway
radio/club music is just that radio/club music.. makes u dance feel good etc.
its beat oriented.. its been that way 4ever.. anybody who thinks "rappers delight" has mind blowing lyrics is an idiot.. its about the groove of the song.. that where hip hop/rap STARTED.. whether or not these new "hip-hop heads"(i hate that term) want to admit it

its not about being good anymore.. people just have to like you... for every artist who goes platinum.. theres definitely a million people who "hate" that artist.. think they give a fuck?

radio has to appeal to more people then your average street single would... these dance/hyphy songs appeal to more people then the mid 90s bay sound would.. because the majority of people aint hard.. they just wanna have a good time.. this is what the music is doing.. letting people have a good time

the hyphy shit gets on my nerves too and like Reb said.. niggaz in my city dont be fuckin with that shit too heavy.. we still slap the OLD keak.. and agerman.. killa tay.. etc that good old mob shit

if i could make a weak ass song like LAFFY TAFFY.. and be a guaranteed multi-millionaire.... and be able to provide for my family for generations to come.. i WOULD

while we complain.. artists are feeding they family.. and they sellin out?

its 2 types of music.. GOOD and BAD
and everybody has their own opinion of those two.. most peoples opinions aren't consistent either.. its either u like something or u dont

u dont like a certain type of music.. dont listen to it
dont like ANY music.. make your own.. its pretty simple

i hear that Unjust

you really don't see my click bumpin that hyphy shit
but if it's on, ya know it's in a mothafuckas nature to get dumb, but we don't be doin it all out in public actin a fool

but ya know i'm from The City and we stay grimey
but when we in the hood drinkin at like 4 in the mornin, ya know the younger cats pull up their cars bumpin that stuff and goin dumb, but they'll grow out of it

and no disrespect to that hyphy movement and what not
we just ain't got time for it...
it's hard enoug havin a good time kickin it in the hood without everybody goin dumb and not being aware of whats crackin off

I don't think that everybody is making hyphy shit for the radio, I think it's a small and annoying handful of artists. I know there are some rappers whos shit would never get on the radio or TV unless the editor wanted to scramble and bleap out 90% of the words. Those artists are not trying to get on the radio!

Im saying look harder for what you want then turn off the radio and tv and do you!

anyone who is true to themself can look back on they work 10 years from now and say okay im cool with that, anyone who just made a dumb retarded song will look back and be like, what was i thinking? kinda like how MC hammer looks back at his parachute pants
