Travis Henry is not a "supreme talent." Sorry.

And Nate Clements > Dre Bly.

you didnt get what i was saying......clemments was the only supreme talent in this years FA....which the 49ers got......denver got dre bly/travis henry who are above average but not on nates level.....and 49ers got some average/below average LBs and a decent safety.....

and the 94 9ers is all you can think of.....that pretty much makes what i said pretty much true......yes there are a few exceptions but most teams that overspend in FA are fairly disapointed....not to say all but most......

The 49ers got a pretty good deal on Clements believe it or not. When you actually break down the numbers, the contract is in the 9ers favor more or less. Yes there is $24 million guaranteed, which Clements earned with his shut down play, and never missing a game in his 6 year career. But the majority of his contract doesn't pay out until the final 2 years. Out of the $80 million in his 8 year contract, I believe its $27 mill that will be paid during the final 2 years. We all know this day and age contracts in the NFL never actually last their full life, and by then if he's still with the 9ers they'll ask him to restructure, and he'll be so old he'll have to or leave. Or even by then the cap will be so much higher that his contract won't look so large. Compared to all the money everyone will be getting in free agency between now and then. The only thing that matters in contracts is guaranteed money. So far I think the 9ers and Broncos have done nice in FA, but I think the Broncos overpaid for Daniel Graham. I think Eric Johnson is a much more solid TE then Graham, and has actually proven more besides his injury problems. But they could have got him for probably half the price I'm thinkin. Then again the 9ers don't even have him resigned so who knows what he wants.

Off the top of my head, without giving much thought, yes.

Look, Championship teams are built by signing the right people, whether it be in Free Agency or in the draft. Your statement is nothing more than a theory that has not been proven and never will be.

A better statement is this.. DYNASTIES are built in April.

Championship teams are built either way.

So you're saying that acquiring Dre Bly and Travis Henry is better than acquiring Nate Clements, Michael Lewis, A. Franklin, A. Lelie and T. Banta-Cain??

The question is who will have a better offseason.. So far it looks like the Niners. I don't really want to get into an arguement because I don't give a rat's ass who has a better offseason as long as my team has a good one, but you're not making a lot of sense.

^ Hell yeah !

Winners
1. San Francisco 49ers: They are on the right path. After signing cornerback Nate Clements, nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin, linebacker Tully Banta-Cain and safety Michael Lewis, the 49ers are looking more like a 3-4 defense. Franklin will help at nose tackle. Clements matches up against the top receivers on an opposing team. Lewis is a physical safety, and Banta-Cain should improve the team's speed at linebacker. Ashley Lelie will help because he's different from the other San Francisco receivers. He has speed and should be able to help in the red zone. The 49ers aren't done. They still have plenty of money and plenty of draft choices to improve their team.
