so who is the person that will be in charge of this shit? Who ran it last time? This shit could really boost up this website. Atleast i think so. The Flows forum had that text rapping tournament why cant we just make a beat tourney? More people will stay active with shit like that.

you mad cuz you cant make a hyphy beat or something????

lol....i know you wouldnt last too long with themes cuz all your beats sound like the same warren g 1992 beat remixed.....and thats a compliment.....

Mad? Why would I be mad. I just don't like Hyphy beats. They ain't my prefered style of beat because they just don't get deep enough. I want to hear more musical elements, chords, basslines and all that real shit. Obviously it seems like producers SUCK these days and they would rather take it the quick way and make some one finger shit. I would rather make a dirty south beat, than Hyphy, atleast a lot of Dirty South shit has more musical elements. Hyphy just some wierd ass jungle sounding beats with jingles n shit, pitched kicks (rather than basslines) and some catchy hook, some silly sounding shit I think. It's not adult music, it's music for kids. If your like 10-16 years old, then go for it, go "DUMB," be a kid. Keep riding that yellow school bus. lol

BTW, there's nothing wrong with Warren G and the year 1992. Beats the hell out of this era.

Don't think you would last either with the themes. All your shit sounds too techno-ish and it changes too dramatically. Too much is going on, you also add too many unnessary noises here and there. You need to follow a more musical path and build your shit up as it leads to the climax. Take elements out, put them back in, introduce new ones,etc...

Here's one of my latest beats:

Whether you like it or not, I think it follows a musical path. I introduce new elements, take out, put them back in,etc... You don't need to over do your shit too much otherwise it can change the whole vibe of the track or throw the listener off.

Hear these, these are more new-school, but not as complete as the one above interms of song structure:

well i dont know if you rap but i do but i dont consider myself a rapper i am an artist and i have a distaste for monotony thas why i change up my shit and when i write and record songs to these beats and everyone else that raps on em it sounds good with the change ups and especially if the artist is like me and writes to the beats rather than try to put already written lyrics to it.....but i dont know wtf you mean i dont follow no path you on some shit wit that statement lol......that beat you just posted sounds more like the "musical path" i be on than any beats youve ever posted before so its funny you say that....

^^^ now that i think about the theme thing, it would be gay if there were too many types of themes because what if its a "westcoast theme" and one of the dudes submits a dirty south sounding beat? Is that a disqualification?

Those last 2 beats I posted are new school sounding beats. You said all my shit sounds oldschool like 1992, well I don't always make that style. Though that "oldschool" sound is my prefered style because it's more musical in sound, chords, piano, guitar,strings,basslines...real shit, more organic real sound. I'm personally not too big on all the new synthy stuff, though I do make it, as you can hear in those 2 beats. As far as the musical path thing goes, forget it. Don't feel like explaining it again because it only has to do with song structure and your demos on soundclick are too short anyways to be a complete song.

^^^LOL, it's not like were mad at eachother. The dude just asked first if I was mad because I couldn't make Hyphy beats (I assume he likes Hyphy). Of course I'm not mad, I was being sarcastic in the first place. Everyone should know by now that "Hyphy" ain't my prefered style. It sounds too silly to my ears, but that's just my opinion. Just as the "1992" shit might sound too oldschool for him, I still prefer it.

maybe if some the producers from last year said something it would happen. But from the looks of this dead forum, it doesnt look like its gonna happen.
This forum was never the host of any beat making competitions. I messaged about it so we'll see I guess.

I think it was held in the BART forum if I remember correctly, it was so long ago. Could of been the 916 forum. Pretty sure it was held in the BART though, because that part of forum obviously gets most traffic.

The Temp. sections must of been way near the top then, probably threw me off, I didn't pay much attention to them, back then, I voted maybe a few times, but I do remember mother fuckers submitting beats in the contest that they didn't even make, lol.
