Jesse fuckin' Rice, I commend you on your post, but I also disagree. When I point out the hypocrisy of this forum and the atheists who seek to butcher religious people some say it is bitching. Personally, I don't care WHAT a person believes in. I've said this MANY times here, and I will say it again. I do not care what a person believes in or worships. You can pay homage to dead ant or you can worship pink elephants. You can believe science has all the answers or you can believe religion does. Whatever a person believes that is on them, and thats why I have never tried to convert anyone here. However, when people bombard this forum with threads that serve no purpose other to attack religion and the others beliefs something needs to be said.

How many threads have been made where a theist or creationist attacked an atheist or evolutionist? Not many. Now how many threads have been made where an atheist or evolutionist has attacked a creationist? MANY. These people always claim to hold the higher ground, yet they attack people and use the, "you're not a christian" line when you mash back on them. THAT is the problem this board is going through, and it has been festering for a long time.

You shoulda stopped right here becuase this is EXACTLY the question he is asking. This is YOUR OPINION, not one who believes in theories and religion belief systems.

The point is, the argument of how we got here and when, is POINTLESS. We are ALL ruled by what WE believe is true. Why do you think the biggest argument in the WORLD is Science vs. Religion...and guess what, it HASNT been resolved AND it NEVER, EVER wil...

Can we just put the shit to rest already? All I see in here lastely is the religius folks vs. the science folks and it all boils down to the SAME shit. Then, when both sides FINALLY get to the breaking point where you realize the opinion of one another is NEVER going to change, yall resort to name calling....how mature!

Some people believe in evolution...others believe in a devine creation....can we fuckin move on now, please?
No, we can't, there are methods to resolve these issue, they have been used and the issues resolved. We (science folks) have moved on, but most people haven't

There is no belief involved here, belief and science are incomaptible

I think the name should be changed to the RDF(religion debate forum) or PDF. (political) you may have to run that one by Adobe...lol The GOM doesn't fit. I never see anyone discussing mathematics. the next great invention. I never see circuit board schematics...home made gadgets. or discuss NEW ideas about whatever. It doesn't have to have such a serious tone in here 24/7
Do you see a mathematician around?

When I try to discuss the latest findings in biology (my field) I either get no posts in the thread or some more creationism nonsense

think about it

afterwards, you can look at it and say "wow this is what i believe, thats pretty ridiculous, maybe i should consider other ideas"
There is only one flip-flopper in here who will remina nameless. But for the most part, I can almost 100% guarntee you that NO ONE else has said this.

or you can say "wow this is what i believe, im a smart muthafucka right here".
Now thats more like it!

Moved on? Then why do you CONTINUE to argue with those who DONT share YOUR opinion?

There is no belief involved here, belief and science are incomaptible
Uhhh...do you BELIEVE in science? There you go.

And youre STILL missing the damn point.

So according to you a thread titled "Some Real Scientists Reject Evolution" is not an attack on atheists/scientists?

^^truth. but the point is, debate is self serving, and the person learning most from it is probably the individual. so when i see all these thread topics/debates/etc, i see a person behind them who is trying to convince themselves of something. for example...heresy's, 'crackers are worse than religion thread'.
I can atest to that. Im not gonna lie, I go into a debate thinking im 100% right no matter what...maybe thats just the stubborn Taurus in me.

I think if an individual is so convinced they are right in their own mind, nothing is going to stop them from argueing to the last word...never admitting they are wrong EVEN with facts in their face.

What's the point of this thread?

I could roll into the sports forum and say some shit like "What's the point? All you people ever do is argue about whose team is better and what move some GM is going to make next. But nothing ever changes because you all always like your team and no one is going to change your mind." Blah Blah Blah

People are enjoying themselves even if they are arguing around in circles or talking about something that has been discussed a million times before.

I think we need more threads where Jesse fuckin' Rice can tell people "YOU ARE STIL MISSING THE POINT!" That would help us all.

How is that an attack on science when they are real scientist that just so happen to reject evolution?

An attack would be what YOU do. You usually make new threads and wrap it up with a rant about how religious people are foolish. I simply made a thread and posted a link.

Honestly...I'm bored. You could take my question and apply it to the entire site, so you gotta point. I also understand it's just good ole plain n simple human nature for people to gather and discuss issues whatever they may be.
