the track i get the most compliments for my song quality is the one i did with the Summit Audio piece...
see, hip hop, you want the vocals, a lil colored, but mostly clean, and your beats, you want colored as fuck(warm)
but, for rap vocals, most of the time warm isn't what you want, you have so much bass in your music, that you need the vocals to cut through, you're not gonna get that going heavy on the tubes...
so yeah the focusrite's prolly a great piece for you

but i like a colored mic semi-clean preamp combo
