part of the reason why they made horrible picks was because of Twardzik's "nice guy" campaign where he would put character in front of talent no matter what. I think this was after the Sprewell choking incident
yeah cuz steve nash was a thug. regardless they still resigned a bunch of losers and traded for other losers

todd fuller was another retarded ass pick. we had a lot of bad decisions.

well i remember that draft knowing kobe was gonna be good. and thinking jermaine oneal had a chance to be a star.

nash looked like a more solid pick at the time because of his college career. i knew kobe and jermaine would need time out of high school

my pick in the 96 draft would have depended on the number 1 pick in the draft before. i probably woulda chose rasheed wallace or jerry stackhouse... kg was an option too but im bein real and not saying things out of hindsight. i probably woulda took mcdyess over kg. but i liked the tar heel kids better.
Kobe would of never came to the Warriors if we drafted him. He would of asked to be traded or go to college since he did not hire an agent.

the draft today is a lot different than it was back then..it used to be players were drafted on the way they produced in college and today its mainly on potential...that being said Todd Fuller was a double double machine at nc state and if my memory serves me correctly the player they really coveted that year was erick dampier but indiana took him the pick before...and joe smith was the best player in college and the consensus #1 pick. not his fault he played pf in college and got eaten up in the pros. every gm would have selected him first....and for every kobe bryant and jermaine oneal there is 10 koreleon youngs, leon smiths and jonathan benders!!!

We are talking about blaming some one for why GSW didn't make the playoffs, not about the fucking salary cap. Trading J-Rich didn't make the team better. The top 3 scorers on the team all ran out off gas, Barnes fell off (tuff season losing your mother), and MP didn't show up til after the trade deadline.

The nigga we traded Rich for didn't even suit up for the game against the Suns, what kind of irony is that? Monta would have grown, with or without J-Rich. Funny how as the season wore on, BD out of gas, who ran the offense? Monta! If you had JR in the starting lineup, Jack off the bench, you wouldn't have starters playing the 1st 18mins of the game! With him you can bet we would have had a better record in than the 0-6 start.

That salary cap, signings, future shit is great, but now we've gone fishing and it seems we were 1 nigga short...

no doubt j rich woulda helped a lot this year but your last point is the whole point of the trade, salary cap signings and the future. usually 48 wins gets u into the playoffs, but the west is just too stacked this year

But after 13 years and making it to the 2nd round, we start talking about the future? I'm not mad at building for the future, but we keep sacrificing winning now. Sounds like we are trying to be a middle of the pack team instead of nba elite. This year should teach us that middle of the pack aint gonna cut it in the West.

Just imagine if we held on to JR and were in the running for somebody like Gasol. Everybody else was trading to get star players Lakers, Suns, Nuggets for Iverson. What the fuck did we do? Traded our star for a nigga we won't play this year. For the future. All those other teams have established stars, and stars that are on deck or gonna be around for a while. Bynum, Stoudemire, Melo, not to mention the mix of age and experience almost every other team in the west has. We cant forever be a team built for next year.

^^^ If they they had Jackson and Harrington all season last year they would have had more wins plus Baron and J-Rich missed hella games last year. Taking nothing away from this years team we played better as a team last year i think. i mean barnes was so much better last year.

I'll break down this season with criticism:

I'll start with Baron, his conditioning is terrible, it's a known fact he doesn't practice just so he can rest for games. What kind of pro does that? You're getting paid millions and he chooses to be fat. The fucking reason why he needs rest is because he's out of shape, if he was in shape he wouldn't need so much rest. Fat Boy. Step your game up when you're on your contract year.

Harrington showed a ton of promise during the beginning of the season and gradually worsened after the all-star break. Started bricking 3's big time, didn't take his man one on one as much. This guy has tremendous mental toughness issues. He thinks too damn much, and he's a softy. Touch him and he'll fall straight on his ass. Step your game up you 6'9" fucker trying to take charges on guards.

Jackson's turn, missed the first 6 games, we would have been in the playoffs had he not missed those games. But, he's one of the most dumbest emotional players ever. Cries like a bitch when he goes for layups and if the opposition's jersey touches his hair follicles he'd cry foul. Steady complaining to the ref and not getting back on D. WISE UP you stupid fuck, you rarely get fouled on your ugly ass bricked layups. You can't play in the post for shit, stick to shooting rhythm 3's. Nothing more than a role player trying to do too much. Stick within your limits and let the game come to you instead of forcing everything.

Monta - I got nothing bad to say except, work on your defense. You self-proclaimed fastest dude in the league but gets burned all the damn time on defense.

Nellie - What the fuck, isolating your best player in a guard by placing him in the post is just a terrible strategy, work on your offensive schemes man. Putting your guard in the post everytime causing him to expend massive amounts of energy to make a play. And isolating Jackson in the post? WTF are you thinking? What haven't you learned with all the failures and turnovers of isolating Jackson in the post? And your zone offense? Are you fucking kidding me? That shit is comparable to middle school zone offense efficiency. NO fucking ball movement, you got your ass handed to you against Denver at home because of that. Time and time again you get burned with your zone offense, step your game up!

As for the J-Rich trade, Mully was going after KG, let's not forget that. They were using Wright as trade bait.
