We have a lot of artists and producers on here, and I'm just wondering what music REALLY inspires you? What do you listen to that totally puts your mind on making TOP NOTCH music??

For me, it's Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, 2Pac, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Tony Bennett, Billie Holiday, Jimi Hendrix, Sam Cook. These are the main artists that really inspire me to do my best and make high quality music for all people from all walks of life.

Post 'em up!!

I'm glad to see such diversity in these responses man! There's a lot of great music out there and it's such a waste when people arn't open to any of it.

It's pathetic when all someone listens to is a small handful of fake ass "gangsta" or "pimp" rappers, especially when those rappers are an insult to the term.

the theme to rocky lol

but nah, I listen to old school, R&b, and rap, and that's about it, but the ones putting in that extra effort really inspire me, or ones that weren't afraid to try something new.

Eminem's song -- the way I am, that inspires me because his flow is relentless, made me up my lyrics and haven't looked back since

Stevie wonder-- That man breathes and sleeps music, he pours his soul out on them tracks

B.G-- Dood been rappin since he was like 15, and rappin well. He's an inspiration to me, because he's my age, and has been around for years now. A legend in the south in his own right

Master P-- No real explanation needed, he started from less than nothing and has enough money to do whatever the hell he wants, yet he's still chasing his dream of playing in the NBA. He's made classic music to me tho too

Sade-- Her music is different, yet damn near flawless. Makes me want to do the same in the respect that she makes music that puts you in a certain mood, whether you want to be in that mood or not.

Micheal Jackson-- Some will laugh, but he's one of the most talented singers we will see in our lifetime, but whatever he does outside of the music is just rediculous

there are more, but there are a few

I listen to all kind of shit and honestly I don't listen to rap like that, because I think that it's impossible to listen to something and not have pieces of it rub off on you...System Of A Down, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Pac, Jay-Z, The Cronics inst. album, Andre 3000, and some times I listen to shit that is hella wack as a wierd form of motivation to not sound like that...I like to listen to music and not fads it's alot of other shit in my collection but this is what I am fuckin wit right now.
