how come he is going to choose the tracks he wants, and THEN get them mastered? y not master them all as they get finished?

BRUH! THE REAL REASON IS... An album gets mastered all at once.. so he'd have to know which songs he wants to do before hand.. this being so, because masters come out different each session.. you would want it all done at once (in one day/one session) so it can all be at the same level..
