Ok lets just assume im not up on it... who can match mitch and lil al lyricaly and production wise in san diego. I mean really come with a good produced album with good lyrics. Most cats i think eitehr got super tight lyrics and no good production or they got good music and the lyrics be nursery rhymes or from the 90's in my opinon

What U Described As Gangsta Rap Isnt Gangsta Rap At All.. Its Not Music Most People Can Relate Too... Not Everyone Wants To Hear Someone Get Killed On Wax, Or Wanna Hear About How Drugs Is Movin... And When U Said They Also Rap About The Basic Life Struggles Of Growing Up In The Hood, Prejuidices, And Politics, Thats Not Gangsta Rap Thats Just Regular Hip Hop, U Can Hear Lupe Fiasco, Or Talib Kweli Talk The Same Shit, Maybe Even Deeper Than Ur Typical Gangster Rapper... San Diego Needs As Much Variety As It Can Get.. This City Needs Progress, Not A State Of Arrested Development... The Question Is Are U Really Supporting San Diego?? Because U Said Dont Bite Hyphy/Crunk, But We Should Continue To Bite LA G Funk With Bay Mobb Shit... It Doesnt Make Sense... Dont Bite, But Still Bite...

To me it's not biting, it's just REAL music and how music should be. G-Funk or Bay Area Mobb Funk is REAL music, real sounds, you can hear in the beats the skill used to make it. It takes some true talent to make it, even sample because you need to have that Funk n Soul. Piano, chords, guitar, bass, synth bass/leads, real drum sets, real $hit. Shit with soul. For me, Hyphy/Crunk is Bull$hit, it's not real music for the most part, it's a bunch of random noise, silly lyrics or yelling, one finger melodies and what not, some BS IMO.

Good points made by all.

I keep it pushin when it comes SD. Push SD as a whole.
Exactly. We gotta push this SD Hip Hop movement in any way we can. Personally i put people on to the sd rap scene all the time. Its all about "planting seeds" When i was in LA last year, i put a couple of up and coming engineers onto SD shit and i just got a call from one of them last week for the first time in months and dude is now an ast. engineer in a major studio and he wants to know when that Messy Slick is coming out so i let him know. Just random shit like that could help in the long run.

So if anybody from SD ever "sells out" and goes major and starts rappin about diamonds and cash, dont hate on him. Whoever that is, will be the big door opener. Talk to whoever that may be and bam!! The door may be openned for u. We need the all types of hip/rap. Even that bling blingin/hyphy/d-boy shit. Do somethin for the clubs too.

shit dont work like that down here yet tho. like youre gonna get hated on regardless because youre not from another persons part of the city.

i'm not one to talk about personal shit but thats something san diego needs to work on, put the colors and egos away when it comes to business.

cuz you fuckin' up a chance to network.

That shit is so true... Fools in San Diego stay segregated... Colors... Politics... Nobody comes together... Backpackers on one side... Gangsters on the other... I want to see cats like Deep Rooted hook up and record with Complex... Or Skitzo cook up a beat for Mitchy... A Bennie Heron and Ecay collab... Miki Vale over a VMF track... That's one reason why the Bay jumps... Cause everybody works with everybody else... Zion I and Fab... E-40 and Lyrics Born... Casual and Too Short... San Diego heads don't really think outside the box...

thats real talk right there..thats what im saying!

i wish i'd see orko appear on some ecay shit...
if dude slowed it down form that drum and bass shit and rocked with some diego producers (even though he produces, too) i would be blown a fucking way.

and where the fuck is masters of the universe as a whole, while were talking about other-than-gangster shit? AND tony the skitzo? last i seen tony da skitzo nigga was playin magic the gathering lololol

niggas just aint paintin sd right to me yet! the banging shit is cool, i love it..but theres so much more to this shit! thats why i thought it was cool lil cs had "summer feelings" as a main song on mob kingz...we need shit like that.. and when we come together as a whole...i think thats when we all gon' shine..

oh and peace to the indivisualz while im givin shouts out to sd hip hop

in LA you had gangster rap..but you had pharcyde...project blowed..shit liek that...we just need to make more than one movement..either that or a combination of both movements..thats what im trying to work on.

i feel like i can help this shit pop. but its all in the struggle...if i keep putting the puzzle pieces in the right places the big picture might show itself..

a mitchy slick and jayo song should BEEN DONE been made.
but thats gangs for you..

^^^good shit man, i thought i was the only that was all into some kind of hip hop movement. I love the bangin shit too but only because its some sd shit. We need like a Madlib/Murs type hip hop movement out here.

Music moves so quick nowadays, so all u artists out there need to double time that shit. 1 album a year is just not enough these days in my opinion. Come out with like 2 or 3 mixtapes + 1 album minimum annually. I know i havent came out with shit yet but i will. Its comming.
