I don't have a position on this because I honeslty don't know. I am just curious as to what the purpose of perpetuating the existence of the species. I'm not trying to argue with you about it, I'm just curious about your reasoning behind your answer. So, why perpetuate the existence of the species/your gene pool? What is the point of that as you see it?

Fair enough. I guess what i'm trying to understand though, is what the purpose of keeping the species alive actually is. I always hear that the purpose of life is to procreate and keep the species here. I've just never heard an adequate, rational explanation to support it.

The survival of our species does not have relate with purpose. Continuence of our species can simply be the inevetible outcome of just existing. Two people would still f*ck each other without thought for kids, and yet its an inevitable outcome.

Naw, not about love at all. But think about it, sex is just part of living. It doesnt have to relate to procreation at all, if i want sex then i get it. doesnt mean i want i kid in the end, but if there is no birth control then kids are bound to happen.

i think there has to be some sort of feeling at one point if your going to be intimate with someone. physical attraction and chemistry but novafire you make it sound like nothing means anything but the human species always feels so we live because we also feel and want to better evolve...without feeling we would not know what we like or dislike...wars may fuel in this world but modivation persists in the human heart to go on with war when you know there is a purpose, whether its the nation your fighting for, a person you long to be with or the people your trying to save at war as well- all are because you feel and have love within..

Is it possible to be with someone you dont love? yeah, theres couples that dont love each other but stay together for different benifiting reasons. though they pay for it with turmoil. Is love the motivation for existing? Probably, all other motivation such as money, material things etc. will never give fullfilment and meaning to life.

yes but what you need to remember is one must love themselves if they choose to continue to exist..if you hated yourself you may think of suicide and attempt this but love is powerful you see because thats why u are still here and if u dont love yourself then love for someone else makes u also stay here...material things can never compare to love..never in my mind..
