A reliable source from a major label stated that the West Coast (Mainly Southern Cali) Gangsta shit is a rap, it's about the party club shit, no one wants to hear about yayo, guns and how hard you are anymore, it's played. If you noticed Mack 10 new song Testimony is getting air play, he's not talking about gang bangin, the first single was a flop and he had to come immediately with a new single. What people have to understand on a major level the majors control the Indusrty.

The big 5 can basically say whom they want to blow, so they branched out to the South, but the South been putting down for years, the industry just put them on the map. When they want to bring it back to the West, they will make it happen, but they'll be no gangsta shit, until then, it'll be THIZZ, CRUNK and CHOPPED & SCREW Music.

CHUUCH!!!!!!!!!

As time changes so does the muzic but i don't blame it on the artists i blame that shit directly on the industry to0 me it's like they take a part of sumthin solid then break it down till there's nuthin left, in other words they take sumthin that is popular to the masses then milk every single cent it's worth till it's played out but we play the part aswell cuz when there's a change in are lifestyle they follow behind us and when we ain't lookin they take it and glamerize it till we can't ignore it nomore... Basically the radio station is it's voice and the people that owns it works for the music industry all that shit connected by higher well known labels that has the juice and money too put they artist out there.. That's one thing about a independent label they gotta to work twice, bump that five times as hard as these well known established labels so there artist can be put on yadamean....so it's like a no win situation till we have a sumone flip the script on they ass and find a way to work a twist on them leehes...Yadamean Errbody get sum getrite....

Oh forgot to throw sumthin in there? Whut it do..you a tenda..lol

I don't care who said that. I completely disagree. A lot of people only want to listen to "gangsta" music. Young Jeezy just blew the fuck rapping about selling drugs. If you pay attention to what people listen to in the Bay i think the majority of rap fans want to hear about cats rapping about guns and drugs. Some people want to hear those themes because they can relate and others want to hear about those themes because it makes them feel like they're hard themselves which is comedy but it's the truth.

I agree. I don't give a fuck what radio plays, I don't give a fuck what TV plays, I don't give a fuck what you like and I don't give a fuck what your friends like. I'm gonna support and listen to that gangster/mobb shit regardless of whether it becomes trendy again or not.

^^^Everyone says, "What it do!" There are billions of people who live in this world. I'm sure putting 3 words together shouldn't be that difficult.

Who gives a fuck if people are using other regions slang? If they can capitalize off it fuck it. It's a fucked up world everyone is out trying to survive. People steal, cheat, and deceive others. That's just how Corporate america works.

I also agree with Nina, record industry does control what gets played and what doesn't. The Bay will always be overlooked because lack of record sales. Statistics play a huge part in the sales world. Take for example any sales job. The more you produce the faster you will get promoted.

And yea this gangster shit will be around, but it's not going to get much airplay. Game was an exception because he was fucking with G-Unit. I hate to admit it but the whole nation is feeling 50 Cent and G-unit. Ever since what happened during the West Coast and East Coast feud the industry is trying to stay away from what happened in the past. This clubbish fun music is taking over. I dont mind it either.

so the overall gangsta aspect is dead? Nah, it's just evolved. It only died out commercially. Everyone is doing everything they can to get that status.. If it means not bein gangsta, it isn't much of a sacrifice, if it gets their music on the radio and in the clubs.

if you boycot gangsta music, you're just giving a bigger slice of the market to whoever stickin to their roots... A lot of rappers know you can fade out the gimmick of gangstaism and make it more intelligent/emotional nowadays, which makes it more interesting, so why scrap it..

GANGSTA MENTALITY AINT DEAD.. SO NOR WILL THE MUSIC DIE.

MUSICIANS WANNA BE GANGSTAS, GANGSTAS WANNA BE MUSICIANS.. Be who the fuck you wish cause no one cares about it. And if they do, they'll just wine on a record about how more gangsta they are than you. I think people are just more conscious about what can fuck your career the hell up nowadays and thats why. Look at rappers who have been exposed due to lyrical content, cheerleader hearsay, if an artist has too much contraversey it fucks up the gameplan and pulls em back. Anyone's capable of anything but only some people do something about it. You know that shit's true, people when i'm talkin fi listen.

i could rant on and on, cause i have no one here to contribute to my argument. so i shall stop.

This B.S. coming from a 21 year old "Vet" in the industry? Do your homework rookie. Your are as brainwashed as the majors want u to be. Please dont think Im not connected, I go back with Priority since the days of Mike Cole. The streets predicates whats hot, not the Industry.

NO Disrespect. All the Industy can do is manufacture the "Next New Nigga" Interscope is good at that Game. pardon the pun.
