CZAR pretty much hit it on the head. I haven't watched much Laker games so I can't comment on how they are playing. I only know they are losing. I would think this is much more a result of Phil leaning so heavily on two players (one more so than the other) and not really having a true "team" on the floor. Not saying the 'show doesn't have some nice roll players, but that's all they are really. Roll players. Shaq and Kobe are clearly ranked 1 and 2 respectively on that squad but #3 is who? Not even on the map apparently. To make matters worse. It would appear that the distance between #1 (O'Neal) and #2 (Bryant) is even further than most anyone had assumed. Laker fan being the biggest assumer. For all the accolades lumped upon Bryant since his inception into the league, he cannot carry this team alone. And he's been compared to Jordan? C'mon now.
Sure there's no Shaq right now and Jordan did have Pippen, but stop and think about it. Which "Batman" is/has led his team to more success minus his "Robin"?
I think you find that you must admit that Jordan was a true "Batman" while Kobe is seamingly more of a "Boy Wonder" figure in the Lakers's virtual Gotham City.
